Good for Tennessee BBQ. But if you were expecting TX BBQ you will be disappointed. I liked it and they have Buffet dinner on Friday 5pm…..I recommend if you are a local.

While looking for bargains on the Hwy 127 Yard Sale, we started feeling hungry. To find a place to eat nearby, I searched on Google and found Morgan Brother’s BBQ in Pikeville, just a quarter mile away. We prefer local dining spots rather than chain restaurants, and this place was exactly what we were looking for. It had table service, and we were seated immediately. They had a small but decent selection of bottled and canned beers, which were served icy cold. Bob ordered a pulled smoked chicken salad, and I ordered a pulled smoked pork plate with coleslaw. The pulled pork was juicy and smoky flavor that went perfectly with the BBQ sauce. The coleslaw had the right amount of mayonnaise to give it taste without overpowering the cabbage. Bob commented that his chicken was flavorful and his salad was fresh. Since we travel through this area occasionally and there are few places to eat, we will remember this place and return.

They have limited days they are open so we finally were able to try the food. The decor is every interesting! Lots of signs & the ceiling is covered with cereal boxes.

WOW!! Returning from Heritage Village, Highway 127 Yard Sale, we stopped at “Morgan Brothers BBQ” (at the Rock house north of Pikeville and just before Heritage Village) for a late lunch.

The sides were good that we had but the sausage plate was really bad. 1/8 “thin slices mixed with green peppers and onions. I think the sausage being so thinly sliced may have equaled 3 inches long at best. Also the chicken plate was probably a leg quarter pulled off the bone. They threw in the skin which made it look like more but was not edible. Neither meats had much flavor and neither tasted smoked.

I liked my rib meal. My wife was not as happy with her BBQ nachos. She thought the chips were stale, thus the 4 stars. Really more like 4.5 stars but the rating system doesn’t allow for that rating. I would go again.
