We’ve been 3 times in the last month. It’s the my favorite of all the Hot Chicken places in and around Nashville I’ve been to. No matter how hot you get it (and I’d recommend not challenging yourself the first time because Mr. Moore can make it hot!) the chicken always has great flavor. We’ve had almost all the sides, all great! Make sure to call your order in, Mr. Moore does everything from answering the phone to checking you out, but he never runs behind the time he tells you to pick it up! Thank you and we’ll see you soon!

Moore’s is always a must have when I visit family in town. It’s the first stop we make! The chicken is amazing, and consistently well seasoned/cooked. Easily the best, most authentic hot chicken you can get in the Nashville area.

Started with a chicken breast with Mac and cheese and green beans. It was so good that I ended up ordering catfish, brisket over cornbread, baked beans, and fried okra too. I wish I had a bigger stomach so that I could have tried everything on the menu. Best meal I’ve ever had in my life. The chicken and catfish was cooked fresh right in front of me. They were fried and breaded but it wasn’t too heavy. Got the Xtra hot and the flavor was not sacrificed for spice. The service was amazing could’ve sat in there and hung out for hours.

This place is the truth. It’s call-ahead-only (or at least to avoid the wait), but since we had gotten there early, he took our order ahead of the rush. And it was the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life — you need this in your life! Compliments to the chef and the chicken, and make sure you call ahead!

I’m extremely confident this is absolutely the best hot chicken in town. I’ve tried numerous places, including the “big two.” The hot chicken was perfectly cooked. Juicy on the inside and crispy breading that didn’t get soggy or burnt. The hot seasoning is just perfect. Everything is made fresh and to order. Meaning, you should probably call ahead or expect a wait. It seems a lot of reviews misconstrue the owners straightforward attitude with being rude. I took everything as it was. He was very clear about how his business runs and made great recommendations based on that. Who’s going to have better insight and provide better tips than the owner? I found him to be super nice, welcoming and funny. I highly suggest you ignore any post about the owners “attitude” and instead give it a try. Great food, great experience. Full recommendation!

I’m a local to Nashville and let me tell you. If you’re looking for REAL and the very BEST Nashville hot chicken, look no further. I’ve been to every, and I mean EVERY hot chicken place in this state and NOTHING compares to Moore’s. I’ve gone here since they opened and it’s amazing. The spices on his recipe is off the chain! I see posts on here concerning Mr. Moore and his personality. I never realized how many soft people we have moving into town. If you’re that soft you should probably go somewhere else because the chicken will probably be too hot for you. Don’t judge a man a man too harshly that you don’t know. Mr. Moore does everything, takes orders, cooks, greets (when he can) and runs the register. He is a very hard working man that wants everything consistent for all of his customers. I’ve had extensive conversations with this man for YEARS and then have not at other times. When he’s busy, I let him work and just pick up my food. My family loves David Moore and his heart for excellence! Beyond that, his hot chicken is the best in the country, hands down. Anyone that says otherwise needs to put on their big boy and big girl pants and not be so sensitive. I’ll tell you this, their bad reviews are NOT because the is not incredible! Mr. Moore you merry doing you, we’re lifelong customers!

Hot, delicious, Nashville chicken. Honestly the best and most authentic chicken you can get in Nashville. It’s hot, flavorful, juicy, crispy and absolutely delicious. The sides are delicious and filling. I’ve been to Bolton’s, Prince’s and Hattie B’s and this place is simply better tasting and more authentic.

It just really wasn’t good. There wasn’t a lot of chicken on the tenders, and they were dry and burnt, the Mac n cheese was gross, and the fries were okay at best. The only thing I finished was the pickle slices in the box.

The chicken here is stunning! This is a no frills classic Nashville Hot Chicken joint. The owner is a grizzly fellow, sort of impatient, but he’s a genius with chicken. I highly recommend this place, although I hope it doesn’t get too popular! It’s sort of a well kept secret!!

Fish was good. Stopped on my way home from work and he appeared to be ‘put out’ that i didn’t call in order before i came. I told him i didn’t mind sitting in car so he didn’t have to rush or anything. I didn’t expect him to bring to car and he rudely said next time call it in. That was about 2 years ago. I won’t go back, i don’t patronize rude businesses.
