I wish I had found this place sooner. I’m so picky when it comes to bbq, but this place was amazing. I ordered the beef brisket platter and it did not disappoint. The customer service was great too. The young girl who took my order was super friendly. I will definitely be returning!!

The best BBQ in the area and one of the top I’ve ever had! One of the rare spots where everything top to bottom is amazing, including all the sides (which also makes it hard to decide what to get each time).

Absolutely the best BBQ place in Monmouth county! If you’re looking for melt in your mouth brisket, this is the place to go. Staff is super friendly and will answer any questions you may have. Prices are very reasonable considering the food quality is perfection. My only suggestion is eat it asap, it just doesn’t taste as good once it’s cooled off.

I attended an event last night that had catered boxed meals from Monty’s BBQ. So so so yummy good! The extremely generous portion of authentic pulled pork was DELICIOUS! It was seasoned to perfection on its own but they included a container with a tangy dressing to add some more zing if you so desired (it was so nice to have the choice!). There was also a side of coleslaw to kick things up to an entirely new level of yummy goodness! The sandwich bun was the perfect springy texture, not too moist and soft that it sticks to the roof of your mouth like a potato bun. I’m kinda particular about my pulled pork, so when I say these guys nailed their slow roast, I dont say that lightly.

Place is a fast casual joint. You order by the pound and you grab it. We had the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Brisket and ribs were great! Pulled pork was quite dry though and I wouldn’t get that. Otherwise service was good and I would recommend again. Place does have a bathroom but I couldn’t get the lock to work though.

Hard to find good BBQ. My ribs fell off the bone. The Corn bread was outstanding. Can’t wait to try Brisket and Smokey wings. Also they have Beef ribs sometimes, my favorite and really hard to find. Phil’ BBQ in San Diego was one of my other favorites, but. They have nothing on This place except dine-in

Enjoyed some Monty’s brisket, pulled pork, Mac salad and more at a catered bbq yesterday. Everything was delicious. Tasted just like the best bbq I’ve had in Texas. Meat was tender and tasty, and they provided a great assortment of different bbq sauces. And the host said their service was top notch. Can’t wait to have it again.

In my 23 years of existence, this has been one of the best tasting things that’s I’ve put in my mouth. Staff was AMAZINGLY COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. Ordered and walked out with my food within about 7 minutes. Sat at the park to enjoy and WOW that presentation was phenomenal! the sandwich was fresh, juicy and loaded with tons of flavor! The pickles and onions on top was the cherry on top .

The best BBQ anywhere. Especially love the ribs and the smoked chicken. The sauces are amazing. We drive 40 minutes to get there for take out. Its that good. And their catering is fabulous. Had a party recently and besides the great food they threw in some special touches for our party that made the day even more special.

My wife and I stopped in about about 45 minutes before close, cutting it a bit close, but we had it on our short list of places to try and we happened to be in the area so figured, why not. Not only was the food amazing, the service was PHENOMENAL! An employee named Margaret came up and asked how we were doing, as I scraped the last of my brisket off of my tray and jokingly said, “well as you can tell I didn’t like it”, we chuckled and proceeded to finish up. Not a few moments later Margaret returned with a plate with 2 pieces of cake, she said “I tried making this new recipe I found – I wanted to give you both a piece.” It was INCREDIBLE. But to us, what was even more incredible was her level of commitment to her guests happiness. We made sure she knew we were fans by not leaving a single crumb left. She returned moments later again with a to-go box and said “well since you guys liked it so much, I want you to have the last piece.” We proceeded to have a 5 minute conversation, talking about life and the restaurant. I can truly say it was the best service I have had in a very long time, and people like Margaret are reminders that people not only love their jobs, but more importantly, they love being good people for no other reason than just that. Monty’s gained 2 very loyal guests moving forward.
