I have NO idea why it took so long to find this little gem! Pancakes are huge! The menu is simple diner food. Which is why they’ve been in business for so many years. It’s done well! Definitely coming back and recommend you try this hidden gem.

This is a pleasant hidden gem in Town Plot. We didn’t know if they were open or not but we caught them when the hours were up and we finally got to have their delicious and lovely food. The pancakes and sausage and eggs were by far my favourite and everything was cooked to perfection! The prices and staff were astounding. Would absolutely recommend you try this niche little spot

The Town Plot Neighborhood Association in Waterbury had their annual Christmas party the other night at Monteiro’s. A breakfast-and-lunch only restaurant, they do open at night for events since they also provide catering services. The space was known to locals as “Chick’s” diner before the Monteiro’s owned and operated it for around twenty years. The first room has counter service and a few tables, the second room has booths and tables.

My friend took me to this diner last week. The food was soooo good and the prices are extremely reasonable that i took my dad there this week….my dad and i had breakfast combos and tea and coffee. The bill came to just over $21.00. The pancakes are the size of dinner plates. When i left there both times i was truly stuffed. The place is quaint,clean and quiet. Service was top notch….update..my friend and i STILL go there. Food is still excellent,and prices are STILL great!! Update, DO NOT go there if it is hot outside. My friend and i went yesterday and it was uncomfortably hot.we asked for a ceiling fan or a/c to be turned on. The waitress said no problem….then my friend said she heard someone say its not hot,so they shut the a/c off in a matter of minutes. We were sweating bad while trying to eat….we are regular customers.But after this stupidity i will find another place to eat.

I went with my son for bkfst. First time there in many years. It was nice and friendly. Staff was great. Food was great. Son loved it and wants to return. He wants to go for lunch since he wants chicken fingers. Lol

Went here to get breakfast with my mom & a friend. The home fries were undercooked & burnt, the omelette’s were all watery. Service was the only thing that was good. Won’t be eating breakfast here again.

Great breakfast experience! A somewhat hidden gem. In a unlikely place to find a breakfast joint like this one in the city. Dined in with my son. He really enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. I had corned beef hash, my favorite dish. Reasonable prices, and decent quality food. The coffee is good.The staff is very kind and welcoming. A few Ive noticed have been there working for many years.Its a cash preferred pay system, however they do accept credit cards. The only issue I see with this quaint little place is they do not allow credit card tips. So if you have to use a credit card, PLEASE BRING SOME CASH TO TIP YOUR SERVER! They deserve it and are a large part of your experience at Montieros! Enjoy!
