Been here about 7 or 8 times. I might have even written a review already but I figured I would do another one.

A fabulous dinner and show that’s perfect with friends or a date night. The cocktails are dazzling, the food is exceptional! Definitely a must-go for anyone in Baltimore!

Party of 10. Very pleased with the ambiance & energy even though there was a sub act for fathers day so children could come and eat. The food was not salted (except the bred and cheese spread), but overall good. I thought the rockfish portion was small. The flavor was good. My favorite dish was the lobster and asparagus hot appetizer. Delicious!

An incredible experience regardless of the time of year you attend. The atmosphere is classic, taking on a blend of modern sensibilities and 1920s aesthetic. The food is top notch: we ended up over-eating just from wanting to experience as much as we could, to our later regret. The entertainment was wonderful as well: while we didn’t get to experience the Monarquettes or burlesque performances, the music was definitely lively and fun. A definite recommendation for a date night or friends night out.

We made a last minute reservation for 930 pm on a Saturday, but wanted to see the performances before they ended at 11, so we came early around 815. We checked-in and waited in the bar area. We were about to get seats and enjoy the performances over drinks and actually had a better view of the stage than when we got a table for dinner. We got the text that our table was ready a few minutes before our reservation. It was our first time here, and our server was very friendly and helpful. The gnocchi was amazing as a starter, but I didn’t think it was worth the cost. The bread that’s brought to every table was fantastic, and I highly recommend listening to all of the reviews and getting corn pudding for the table. Paying a little more for dry aged beef was beyond worth it. We also had mac and cheese as a side, which could be shared between 2-3 people. Overall a wonderful and unique dining experience. We can’t wait to come back again. Just make sure you book in advance and have realistic expectations with seating – it’s a busy and popular restaurant for a reason. Get there early, and if you have to wait past your reservation for a table, just enjoy being in such a memorable atmosphere. Also, make sure you check the performance schedule to help you select what night you want to make a reservation for.

We went here last night for our anniversary and it was an all around amazing experience. We started out at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and the drinks were excellent. We were then sat at the very front of the stage and got to watch the performances up close. The performers were very entertaining, not too over the top and it still felt like an intimate dining experience. My husband and I have eaten at many Baltimore restaurants including many Atlas restaurants and this was probably the best meal we’ve had since we moved here 3 years ago. The Salmon and short rib dishes were delicious and the Mac and cheese side was some of the best we’ve had. The service was excellent too!

Went to the Monarque last night with friends for dinner and their “Monaque after dark” shows. The food was good. The presentation and the taste of the Bigeye tuna tartar was exceptional. Only issue with the seafood tower was it lacked condiments like melted butter for the lobster, more than one dish of cocktail sauce for all the shrimp ( which were quite large and tasty), and there were no lemons provided for the oysters. The service and the ambiance were great though. The shows were okay. We really enjoyed the first set of performers which kind of reminded me of Cirque du Soleil performers. But overall it was just kind of cruise shipy which doesn’t mean it was bad. I was just hoping for more of a risque burlesque show at the end. Still had a good time and definitely recommend the restaurant and the show if you’ve never been for a fun Friday or Saturday night out.

First of all, we mistakenly made our reservation to sit at the bar but what a fortunate mistake that was! We’ll sit at the bar next time, too! The bar stools are super comfortable and the service at the bar is very fast and efficient and friendly. I wanted to give Monarque 5 stars but I was disappointed by my steak: I ordered the 90-day-aged “rib steak” (which I assumed meant “ribeye”) but it had more of the texture of a NY strip than a ribeye so I can only attribute that to not enough marbling because when I buy ribeyes and grill them they are always very tender and not chewy or hard to cut. But perhaps “rib steak” is another cut that isn’t the same as what we Americans call “ribeye”. My wife loved her bouillabaisse and the foie gras parfait we shared was absolutely divine. It had a Madeira aspic that gave the creamy foie just enough sweetness and it was served with a couple of thick slices of a hearty bread. Next time I’m ordering my own so I won’t have to share! The foie gras was the standout of the meal. We had their coconut pineapple sundae for dessert which was delicious. My wife enjoyed a Greek white wine. The ambiance is very nice, the service is impeccable, the prices are reasonable for that level of restaurant and the noise level was very comfortable. I’ll definitely go back but will order something other than their rib steak.
