I stumbled across this small restaurant while looking to satisfy my craving of cà phê sữa đá aka Vietnamese iced coffee, which I did and gosh was it plenty potent. My partner had the Thai tea and we thought it was enjoyably creamy but a tad on the sweeter side. Since it was around lunch time, we decided to dine in and try one of their vermicelli noodle bowls, especially because they use bánh hỏi over bún.

Came for a lunch meeting on a Fri. Very busy and limited seating. Metered parking available in the front or free 90 min parking in city garages. Very amicable staff and good food. Shredded chicken Bahn Mi was great, the Thai iced tea was also delicious. Ambiance was good, not loud music but felt a bit cramped.

I am an early enthusiast of Mommy’s whose chicken Bahn Miwhich are part of my Saturday farmers’ market experience. While I expect most Banh MI offerings in this Valley are at least quite satisfactory, as I have found is most local Vietnamese food, from the buns, brought in from LA (for some reason the Bay area is a bread desert), to the striking freshness of the ingredients, Mommy’s is a treat of which I don’t tire.

Really yummy banh mi. We got the porchetta, the vegan, the veggie, and the fried chicken. Great choice for a team lunch. I hear they are getting a new location soon, will be back!

My partner and I always get either the Medallion Banh Mi or the Porchetta Banh Mi. You really can’t go wrong with either.

I visited them for the Rose Garden Farmer’s Market this Saturday. The shredded chicken banh mi on a baguette was delicious. I loved the pickled carrots. Great choice for a picnic if you’re headed over to the rose garden.
