I had been to Mokkoji in arcadia before, so I am familiar with the way it works. My friend and I ordered the special for 2, which comes with 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, selection of meat, veggie plates, and 2 desserts. We got beef sampler, which comes with 6 kinds of beef (6 slices of each). The broth is always additional $$, we got sukiyaki (+$3) & pork broth (+$5). Meat is as good as old times, ponzu and sashimi sauce are perfect for beef, I like that you can always ask them refill the veggies. The only thing I am not a big fan would be the garlic shrimp. It was crispy and tasty but too greasy for me. Wait time is 0 if you come early around 6 on the weekend.

Definitely will be back. The food was delicious and the quality was as expected, GREAT. I came with my wife as a date and it was spectacular. We did have the brisket for two with the spicy miso and the sukiyaki soup for 74 dollars.

This place was really good. I ordered the pork broth and flat iron “mokkoji cut”. Everything was delicious. I’m used to going to all you can eat shabu, so I wish that there was more variety for the veggies, but I definitely loved the food and was happy with what I got.

So glad we have a shabu shabu hot pot place here in riverside now. The place was delicious and has a good selection of sizes for what you would like. The menu is all contactless on phone and all the heating is done mostly through induction stovetop so it keeps the temperature of the place considerably cooler than other restaurants. I got the shishito peppers along with the mokojo cut 10 piece for lunch and it was more than enough food for me personally.

Spicy pork and miso broth are excellent. Meats are marinated and seasoned well. Service is quick and friendly. A place I would go to a few times a year. Can get busy so put name down on wait-list before getting to the restaurant.
