The food is good again. It was pretty poor for quite a few years, but the good food is now back! Staff was OUTSTANDING! Prices are VERY REASONABLE! Place could use a good cleaning and update on the interior, still some booths with duct tape as the upolstery. Hopefully they get a return of customers and make enough $ to make upgrades inside. PLEASE try it if it has been awhile, I hope you are pleasantly surprised as we were!

Me and my family ate here as a gathering and the worker was amazing and nice. I have a young baby and the man who worked here even got my son a coloring page and the food was very delicious. There was also no one else there so it was nice to just have me and my family be the only ones there. The atmosphere was very peaceful and there was even a cute fish tank. I definitely recommend anyone or even by yourself to come try the modern restaurants food. Also if I were to recommend a dish. The teriyaki chicken was amazing.

Very clean with good service. Wasn’t very busy but amazed with how it isn’t. The food was amazing an came out fast an the price was even better. For less than 10 bucks I got a very filling meal compared to other restaurants in the area that’ll charge ove 14 bucks for a meal that isn’t even filling.

Walla walla native here. I’ve seen the ups and downs of the modern. This restaurant is legit. It has the ultimate ambiance and amazing food. Consistency has been an issue throughout the years but I think they’re back. Tonight’s food and service were on point. Keep up the good work Modern and let us help you bring this amazing historic restaurant back to the success it has seen in the past.

It was A delicious meal, but my vegetarian friend did not like the chicken. I LOVED IT THOUGH, I didn’t get a fortune in my cookie. My Chinese friend Danny Kim would’ve loved it!
