Had an amazing dinner with even better service. I have lived in Traverse City for most my life and now come back a few times a year. It was my first time at the Modern Bird, and was blown away by everything. The food was perfect, and the service was superb. Tim and Veyda made sure we had an unforgettable experience. It is evident Modern Bird wants others to love food and eating the way they do. We had A-MAZING service with a very cute touch of congratulations pre-printed on our menu (for an anniversary meal). The Tomato and Shishito was the best shrimp dish I have ever had. My spouse was set on trying the bread with ranch butter and I’m thankful he insisted! The smoked carrots are so unique. My spouse ordered the fried chicken because that’s a favorite and overall said it was good fried chicken. I was impressed with the creativity used to create the delicious desserts. Their Old Fashioned was one of my favorites because it seemed to have a perfect balance. My spouse enjoyed a local IPA.

Phenomenal. All the details of this restaurant are incredible- from the food, and drinks to the decorations. Amanda was our server and she was incredible. Every entree and appetizer we had was full of flavor and well balanced. Great experience, highly recommend.

We LOVE Modern Bird! We know the staff by name and have never been disappointed by a meal (or beverage)! The ingredients are always fresh, and the meal is more like an experience than just food. They change their menu to make sure they bring in seasonally fresh items. We enjoy sitting at the bar or kitchen counters and watching how everything is prepared and chatting with the staff. The service is exceptional and we’ve never left hungry. I forget what that fluffy dessert thing we got was in the attached images, yet we HIGHLY recommend you get it! We’ll definitely be back… over and over and over!

We were lucky enough to experience the new years meal pre fixed dinner. Our group had a lot of dietary restrictions and they did not only a phenomenal job making sure our group had their substitutions but also making sure we had an incredible experience. The food was a dream from start to finish. I couldn’t choose a course that was my favorite because they all were! We came from Grand Rapids because we love spending the new year here in TC and we will definitely be back again for their everyday menu.

Phenomenal food and cocktails! We didn’t have a reservation but lucked into available seating and thank goodness as this place was wonderful from start to finish! The “Our bread” is a must and the venison was an absolute delight. This was our first time in traverse city and we hope to be back again to visit here soon!

Your taste buds will thank you for this experience. The restaurant is vibing with design and a clean crisp aesthetic, the lightening, white cloth napkins, and colored tile backsplash in the open kitchen – so well done. Okay, the cheese bread with ranch butter is a must, one bite into this perfectly baked starter and you know the evening is going to be incredible. The creativity these two chefs have on the menu is so enticing you want to try everything. We had the Kohlrabi Caesar salad, the Arctic Char toast, fried chicken, Cod, and short ribs. We took our time and enjoyed every last bite on our plates- they are elevating the food scene in TC. The Bird knocks a home run out of the flavor park. It’s just deliciousness. SAVE room for DESSERTS. You’re not going to want to share the pavlova – so just order one for everyone. They are Heavenly little clouds of so much goodness. What a night to savor. We will definitely be back.

The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the food. The food itself was delicious. It felt like the chef had carefully curated each dish. The beets with horseradish and jammy egg was a favorite, a balance of creamy with a bit of heat and earthiness. The presentation was beautiful and the meal was deeply satisfying.
