So many delicious vegetarian options! I adore the fresh appetizers they give you. My favorites are the tofu bibimbap and the sizzling works. Highly recommend!

Mixed Grain is our go-to place for Korean food when we’re around Walnut Creek in the East Bay. The variety of food is awesome and always filling. If you’re only ordering one thing make sure it’s the Sizzling clay pot Bibimbap as it’s one of their specialties.

The food is great! Our table ordered a number of dishes, and we liked them all. Pictured are the spicy rice cakes and over the grill chicken. Service was also great. The waitress brought us a pitcher of water (upon request) so that we could refill our own cups. Highly recommend since the cups are small and the food is deliciously spicy. Would definitely visit again.

This is located in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek. So of course you will find parking. There’s a couple of garage parking nearby. I love Korean cuisine, so I was happy to try this one.

Good service, exceptional food. I would come here every day during the winter if I could for some warm ramen! Food is served in cool looking boiling stone bowls and cast iron pans.

Clearly marked vegan options, endless side dishes, and the stew was out of this world! The noodle dish was phenomenal, as were all the side dishes, but the Korean pancakes are painfully lacking (if you’ve ever had Korean pancakes before, don’t get your hopes up; these are the dry tiny distant cousins of what you’d expect). Other than that, one of the best meals I’ve ever had!

all the food was amazing. i had the rice cakes and their spicy ramen and both were great as well as the vegetarian dolsot. their service was slightly lacking in experience and their wait staff seemed very quiet. overall would definitely go again!

I rate the spicy ramen a 9/10 , just because things can always improve. I give 5 stars because 4/5 is only 80%, and rating it that wouldn’t feel right. The restaurant was very nice and had and funky smell, but that doesn’t matter. Service and food was absolutely amazing, i loved the presentation of boiling food in a stone bowl ( be careful don’t burn yourself! ). The only problem i had with this restaurant was not coming more hungry. They also give you sweet lolipops to soothe your mouth after eating all the spicy food, it is perfect.

Love this place! Everything I’ve tried on the menu is so good and the staff is very friendly. There are also parking garages near by which makes parking not a headache. Overall 10/10 experience.

Hard to believe, excellent Korean food can be found in Walnut Creek. Mixed Grain is my favorite Bay Area Korean restaurant. I have been eating both lunch and dinner since they opened in 2012. Great variety of banchans (which definitely ask for refills) to start with. Both Bibimbap (ceramic bowl and Dolsot) and Tofu Stews are delicious. Be sure to order the purple rice with your meal, not many Korean restaurants offer this kind of mixed grain rice. “Angry Bird Escapes the Volcano” is definitely both an epicurean (spicy chicken) and visual delight (thick, bubbling roasted potato soup with a fiery kick) on a cold, dreary day. Love their barley teas. Service is mellow. Metered downtown Walnut Creek street parking.
