I dined here in April, absolutely amazing food. I loved the calamari we had for our starters. Some of the best I’ve had in ages. However, service was a bit slow. The place wasn’t packed, but it still took a while to get our entrées, and even our drinks. Otherwise, lovely place with delicious seafood and top shelf drinks. Lots of parking, great location, ample seating.

Mitchell’s is not who they use to be. We were so looking forward to dinner here since it had been awhile that we’ve last ate here. The hostess was great! We were sat and greeted by our waitress in a timely manner. Our entire order was taken from drinks to our main entree. Our waitress said she’d be right back with our drinks and some bread. Half hour later still no drinks or bread aside no water brought to the table. Another waiter noticed us sitting there and asked if we had been waited on. Yes, but we asked that we could get some water while we waited. He brought us water. Another person brought us both our soup. At this time I mentioned that you brought me my soup but I still haven’t received our drinks. Shouldn’t my drink arrive prior to my soup?! At this time the manager came over to apologize the the drinks were taking so long. He proceeded to tell us it was due to one of the ingredients in my espresso martini had been misplaced and they were trying to find it. Really, over a half hour to make a drink? Because they couldn’t find an ingredient that goes in it? But yet the waitress told me they make these all the time when I asked prior to ordering the drink (it not being on their drink menu). Once I received my martini it looked like they forgot to fill it to the top. The manager did come by and say he’d remove the martini from our bill. My soup was warm not as hot as I’d like it to be, but waiting for our waitress to come by to warm it would had been too long. The salad was very good. Our main entrees were Mitchell’s Trio and Plank salmon. The Mitchell’s Trio… the shrimp was too chewy/tough and the crab cake was mushy which usually indicates too much bread/breading and not enough crab. Both our entrees stated it came with smashed potatoes, but rather we received potatoes that were in chunks(no flavor at all). The asparagus was pretty good. We were very disappointed in Mitchell’s, they’ve really gone downhill in food and service.

We ordered Oyster and crab cakes for a starter. They came back 10 min later to let us know there are no oysters. When the crab cake came it was one and a small bed of reheated frozen corn with peppers in it. The crab cake were moist and mushy on the inside and tasted like tuna fish. That cost me $18.90 I saw other people had bread and butter so I asked for some. It was a soft loaf of sourdough bread that came with soft salt free butter. Not a fan.

We went there on a Sunday afternoon and we were very surprised that they had a happy hour in the bar or on the patio. The fish tacos were great and so was the flat bread that we ordered.

If you haven’t been to Mitchell’s Fish Market in Rochester Hils lately, you should go. Went for happy hour today, food and drinks were really good, and our bartender was amazing (I am so sorry I didn’t catch her name).

Tried to place a $300+ online pickup order today 8/20 at approx 3:36pm. Order was not going through ,said error call restaurant. So I called restaurant to place the order and was told by a guy that answered that I have to go online or come in to the restaurant to order. He said we don’t do phone orders for carryout. ????? I’m on the phone with u and u can’t take my order now ???? WOW great customer service! I will never go to this restaurant again and I am a long time customer. Your loss. I have spent a lot of $$$$ here. This is why restaurants are going out of business. Good luck……

We used to go to the Mitchell’s in Birmingham and had fond memories of meals there. We had dinner on a Sunday evening in Rochester (Hills?). When I made the reservation, I mentioned that we were celebrating a milestone anniversary. The young man on the phone said that something special would happen because of that. It didn’t. The service was very slow. Our waiter was polite and pleasant and we waited long periods of time in between his appearances. We wondered if he had tables in other sections because it wasn’t crowded where we were. My husband’s halibut had some kind of seasoning that was extremely salty. I had a steak which was perfectly cooked. It had some kind of shrimp topping which would have been tastier with less salt. Perhaps our memories of the first Mitchell’s had raised our expectations. The 5 stars were the result of flying fingers. The food was a 4. Our calamari appetizer was delicious, as was the lobster bisque. The service was a 3 at best.

A complete disaster! Food was outstanding but everything else was seriously lacking. Food was incorrectly order/prepared/delivered. Drinks took over 30 minutes. We even had to go and track down the server and cancel the final round because it too too long. There was nothing happy about happy hour. I don’t like giving a 1 star reviews but I wanted them to know we had a horrible experience.

Mitchell’s use to be my favorite place to dine. The last time it was not up to par. I decided to give it another try. No one was in there at 5 pm. The food was just average, potatoes were cold. Something is not right with the place. Maybe they are getting ready to close. When you walk in it smells like barn.

I came in to order some appetizers before my main.
