We have eaten out at most of the restaurants in the Vail Valley. For some reason we had never made it to Mirabelle until last night. I was a little hesitant to take out 6 of our friends who are all major foodies because of the reviews that say the portions are small and food is underwhelming…. Believe me these people have absolutely no clue what they are talking about! The service was amazing, the atmosphere was terrific and the food was the best we have had here EVER. The portions are perfect. We all left as full as we could be and not one person had a trio to say negative. The salads (tomato), the chicken, the salmon, the diver sole (finally diver sole in the states that isn’t fried), all delicious. Every dessert we had (we tried them all) were so so good. We are already talking about our next visit there and what we will eat next time.

My brother and I saw the charming lights of Mirabelle driving by and stopped in out of curiosity. We were met by jolly staff that made us nice cocktails at the bar. Since it was late for a Monday, we fully expected them to be in a hurry to tell us the kitchen is closed. Instead they presented us with a menu and a friendly smile.

After spending some time researching good restaurants in the area, we found out that Mirabelle is highly rated. We booked an reservation, dressed up and came with high expectations. Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the food experience and honestly, quite disappointed. We ordered a variety of courses that all came in tasteless, badly seasoned and in extremely small portions. For $47 we received two tiny pieces of elk that were together less than 4oz, which is embarrassing for how much we paid. Sadly, It was also the worst elk dish I’ve ever had. The meat was super dry and even with the sauce, we couldn’t chew and swallow it. The onion soup was meant to be ‘creative’ but the seasoning was just off. There’s no ‘onion’ flavor in an onion soup but only the pungency from the black pepper. I would not recommend anyone to go there. Save your money and order some chicken nuggets from McDonald’s. You would be much happier with the food you get for how much you paid.

My Family and I recently dined here during a brief stay at the Village. We had heard rave reviews from friends and strangers alike praising the food and thought this place has to be fantastic. The restaurant is quaint in what appears to be an old retrofitted home. As you walk in the bar is striking with a rustic yet elegant feel. The atmosphere is very intimate with minimal tables. To start, cocktails were fantastic and garnished to perfection. The food was another discussion all together. The food was good. I actually have no complaints about the flavors, consistency or the preparation. My elk was done to perfection and was very good. What I do have issue with is the portions, which are bordering on insulting. In fact as a patron I am insulted. For the price/food ratio, this is the most expensive meal I have ever had. To start, I received the elk with a vegetable medley. I was expecting a medley of vegetables. What I received was 1/2 of 1 Brussels sprout and 1/2 of 1 small carrot. Vegetable medley is a half of 2 small vegetables I guess. The entire plate was approximately 6 ounces for an entree. Unfortunately the rest of my table had the same experience. I believe it was more than $55 dollars a plate for that. We ended up going out and having Pizza after because we were all still so hungry. Probably the most insulting experience I a have ever had at a restaurant! Need less to say, I will not be going back ever again…

Had the four course menu w wine pairings, and foie gras appetizer! Absolutely spectacular! Cozy atmosphere, the best food we’ve ever had and 5 mins from home! Do yourself a favor you will not be let down! Not pretentious, hardy sizes and amazing wine and ambience! Chef Daniel really is a master chef! And his wife Nathalie is the most gracious and welcoming host! Absolute best restaurant in the vail valley!
