Michael’s on the river is family owned business we just had our 20-year anniversary. Great local Restaurant/Tavern with an enjoyable atmosphere great food and friendly staff. We have a dining room side and a bar side with a full menu. Without the support of the residents of Flat Rock and surrounding communities and our wonderful employees it would not have been possible.

Awesome place to eat and get drinks in Flat Rock! All the food that we got was delicious. Beer was cold. Service was very attentive and friendly. All at very reasonable prices. For food recommendations, any beer battered deep fried dish here is top notch. Really liked their onion rings and prime rib wrap.

Wow just WOW! Tried this place for the first time last week. We were back again with 9 people the next time. Tried everything from appetizers, to soups, to dinners. Nothing was lacking! Came back again a week later and even with it packed, all food was even better then the first time! pizza is the best I’ve had ANYWHERE in the local/downriver area! 10/10/10/10 service, food all of it! Great experience and environment!! Beats any change reasturant out of the water! From Texas roadhouse, bubbas, so glad we ended up here!! Must try!

Bartender was Very rude. Practical ly threw our fish at us. It was extremely greasy. There was Plenty of servers there but greedy bartender had to take tables. Guess she needed $$$. Very poor service, food was mediocre. Only good thing was their clam chowder. Won’t be back.

Food here is very good for the price. I especially like the French onion. Atmosphere is a little divey in the best ways, feels like an intimate friendly neighborhood spot (I’m talking about the bar side). Our poor waitress was handling the entire bar side and was running around so much she was spilling and not as attentive as I’d have liked. She brought ketchup for fries and I wanted to ask for mustard for my club sandwich (good job making a club with ham and turkey like it’s supposed to! ) but before I could ask she was off to the next table and was hauling food and drinks to 5 other tables and never made it back to us until we were done. She asked if we wanted another drink but by that time we were done. If she’d have been less busy and checked up sooner, we would have. So I’d suggest getting double coverage on a Saturday night as a way to improve the experience. Note I’m still giving it 4 stars so understand that it’s still very good and I’ll be back.

Ordered burgers, chicken tenders (tossed), & jalapeño poppers. Poppers were delicious, burgers we’re way way over cooked, sauce for the chicken tenders were great, the chicken tenders themselves were okay. Would return to see the bar environment on a busier day but would not return for the food itself.

We stopped in for a late lunch and it was fantastic! Friendly staff, our waitress (Makalya sp?) was awesome, explained the specials, answered our questions about the menu and made some spot on suggestions! We had some homemade guacamole as an appetizer, I had the Botana and my wife got the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. The Fettuccine came with a robust dinner salad too. Great tasting food, good size portions and great service – the perfect trifecta! Can’t wait to go back again!

First time here. Absolutely blew me away with the kindness and knowledge of the staff. Madison and Kim were incredible. Recommended the pulled pork potato skins, which were incredible. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the shaved prime rib wrap, both were out of this world. Definitely will be back and will recommend to others.
