Worth every penny!! The bartender Nora was so sweet! She made us laugh! Most importantly she made the cocktails. The drinks were delicious, and the food was outstanding! We ordered the calamari (I forgot to take the picture before we started eating). It was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection! I ordered the barbacoa tacos and my boyfriend ordered ordered the Baja mahi tacos. We both loved ours so much we did not share! I highly recommend everyone give this place a shot!

Veleros is hands down my favorite restaurant. The carne asada is by far my favorite thing on the menu and the best I’ve ever had. Incredibly tender and flavorful, served with fresh homemade tortillas and delicious mushrooms, potatoes, and peppers. Samuel and Gabby are so kind, know their clientele, and the staff is alway incredibly welcoming and kind. The presentation is amazing, and although you pay a bit more than typical for Mexican food, it is absolutely worth the premium. I walk in there and feel as though I’m among friends, whether I’m eating alone or with friends. It is an amazing family establishment. The interior and ambiance are beautiful.

WOW is the food here DELICIOUS!!! Everything I’ve had taste amazing and we’ve loved it all! It’s our designated meeting spot for a girls dinner & the bartender always takes great care of us and we have a great time. They also have taco Tuesday specials (half off)!

Wonderful dining experience. Our server (Jamie, Justin???? Sorry, I forgot his name) was the best!!! We love a server with a sense of humor, and he was one of the best. The food and presentation were incredible. $$$ on costs. Well worth it, in my opinion. We will return without a doubt.

We are SO excited to have Veleros restaurant in NWI! We’re from downtown Chicago and miss the food scene so much. Veleros brings that elevated Chicago touch which takes classic Mexican cuisine over the top. The owner helped open Mercadito in Chicago, one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, and he brought Mercadito’s chef to Veleros! That’s how you know it’s going to be great!

Beautiful decor, excellent service. Food is fresh and delicious, clearly made with care, and there are unusual selections. However, choices are limited (you won’t find typical Mexican restaurant choices here), portions are very small and prices are high. Spent 75 dollars for two entrees and two appetizers. Taco dinners consist of three very small tacos and a small bowl of rice and beans. In both cases, appetizers were larger than the meals. Would go back during lunchtime when they run specials or perhaps for a special occasion.

Food is always delish. Roasted chicken tacos are a hit and I would highly recommend. Try the salsa and Guac trios too it won’t disappoint. Staff is also pretty great too. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s so loud! They need better sound absorption.
