We have been wanting to visit this place since it opened and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The Lengua Sope was perfectly executed and delicious. The same can be said for the the carnita huaraches. Everyone’s meal was tremendous and we will visit again.

I had been dying to try out this new place ever since seeing their temporary “coming soon” sign. Finally made it there last weekend, and had a great meal. I ordered a carnitas sopes and an al pastor huarache. Both were yummy, but I liked the carnitas better. (But they were both such similar dishes, the only thing that seemed different was the shape of the fried dough used for the base.) My husband got the Gina’s Nachos from the appetizer list, as his main meal (our waitress was actually THE Gina!), and he loved it. I tried a bite or two of the nachos as well, and the queso & guac were both so good. We ordered one side dish of rice for our small kids to share, and it ended up being a gigantic bowl that wasn’t even finished by the time we all ate a little bit of it. We explored the huge outdoor seating area, and are looking forward to eating out there in the fall once it cools off a little bit. It’s super nice out there! There are plenty of other things on the menu that I want to try, so I’m looking forward to going back again sometime in the future.

Had a great experience! I had the tacos Asada and Al Pastor, which were both very good and super aesthetic. Prices were comparable to other places, and the tacos made me think this might be the best place in town! Quesadilla looked good too. Salsa had a little kick, which I liked. It was much bigger than I thought with a nice area out back! Good selection of liquor if you like that sort of thing!

This was my first time at this place and the service was very good. The ambiance of the restaurant is very authentic and welcoming. The food and Margaret’s would be rated at about 6.7/ 10. It was alright, but it could use some fine tuning.

Salsa was good, but the chips were chewy, and visibly full of oil. The glass my margarita came in was dirty. The food took a long time to come out for the restaurant to not be busy at all. The elote was cold, and had no flavor. The burrito I got was also super chewy and lacked flavor. I was given a huge plate of cold rice, which I just gave back. Our server was inattentive and we had to ask for straws, silverware, and napkins. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were busy. My stomach has been hurting all night, and I didn’t even finish my meal. The prices are very high in comparison to other local restaurants. I got a $50+ stomachache. I won’t be back.

Menu items are very overpriced compared to similar Mexican restaurants in the area. Food quality is just and in my opinion not worth the price. There are several other options within 1-2 miles (and one within 1/4 mile) that cost roughly half the price of Mi Jefa. $18 for birria tacos and $3.50 for a coke is not my idea of a good value. I know inflation has skewed a lot of the prices of the hospitality and service industry but this is still high. Service was par for the course. Chips were slightly stale. I’ve been wanting to try this place for months and saw other reviews about the cost vs quality and decided to get first hand experience. Unfortunately I will not be back although I do wish them luck in figuring out a good price point for the quality of the food and level of service.

I got the run around for over a month, and the owner never got back to me until after their business had closed and they had “no way” of refunding me my money because they no longer have bank accounts… their words, not mine. They’re still operating as a food truck, and still servicing the area, but can’t solve any customer service issues.

I would give this place a zero but I can’t. The food came out before the drinks. The drinks were wrong. The food wasn’t warm even though it came out before the drinks. Getting any service was difficult. I don’t know if it was because it was low staffed but it is a Tuesday night and not many people here. My partner got something else because the food wasn’t that good and that took forever to come out and everyone said sorry for the wait but still came back with mistakes. We asked for separate checks and got one and asked to separate them and that took awhile to come back. We should have just paid it on one check because we just wanted to get out of here to make food at home.
