The best Mole sauce I’ve ever had! It’s the perfect blend between mildly spicy and not too sweet. The staff here are very nice people.

This is long time favorite of Bridgeport for me. The food has stayed consistently authentic after 25+ yrs, even after it burned down and was reopened. The beef stew or bistec a la Mexicana is incredible. Mexico steakhouse is one of the last places to serve free soup (or appetizer of the day) and chips and salsa. And both are excellent. They do simple things very well. The horchata is the best I’ve ever had. It’s not overly milky and sweet, instead it’s more like it’s intended to be…an agua de arroz. Super clean and crisp/refreshing. Everything is homemade and the owners and cooks have been the same since day 1. Highly recommend this local business.

It’s expensive and the food is not flavorful at all. The ladies are super sweet tho and their beef stew is really good. I’ve been trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt for about 3 months but unfortunately it’s just not giving what it should give. If you like your food seasoned, this is not the place to go. Most of the clientele here is white and old anyway. But their cakes are amazing (they don’t make them).

Update: This place is still just as good. The Milanesa dinner was excellent, the breaded steak was large and took up the whole plate almost, it was cut thicker than most places, (nice and crispy on the outside, and fork tender on the inside). Beans were very good, perfect texture (not runny), and rice was softer than most places but also more flavorful. Their salsa verde is excellent. You still get a free sopita (while you wait for your food) if you come for lunch during the work week. The prices have gone up, but they’re still reasonable. Service is still excellent. It’s a casual place, and little ones are treated well. The bathroom is still kept very clean.
