Update… still one of my favorites in Central MA. Awesome birthday dinner. Living relatively close by, I had wanted to try this place for awhile. Simply one of my favorite central MA restaurants now. The service was excellent… the food even better. Bright colors and Mexican artwork complete the very comfortable environment. We had taquitos, enchiladas, tamales, chili rellenos, and shredded chicken nachos. Salsa was unbelievable… they serve 2 varieties with chips. Thank you for a great family dinner!

Solid place to go. Usually go for drinks at bar only eaten there few times as Mexican food is not my go to food. Food was fine the times I have eaten there. Food is pretty solid. The bartenders have always been nice. The free chips and salsa are a great feature.

Mexicali is a local gem! The staff is so friendly and the food is consistently good. My personal favorite is the Chicken Tortilla Soup. It has the perfect amount of heat and is also flavorful. My other favorites are the enchiladas and the Ranchero Avocado Salad but everything I have tried is good. I really like to go and enjoy the patio or atmosphere inside but they also have takeout and delivery options, AND margaritas to go! You can’t go wrong with Mexicali!

Love this place. Though it’s a hike from where I live, I’ve been here 2x & will definitely keep coming back. Like the fact that they have some wraps & hard shells made out of corn instead of flour – a blessing for those of us with gluten sensitivities! Love the nacho corn chips & salsa dip!

1st off they tried to seat us in a very small high top table next to the bar when there were plenty of booths open & not many customers. We ordered 2 chicken cacedea’s which stared on the menu was made with tomatoes & lettuce. Neither cacedia had tomatoes or lettuce. We told the waiter, probably in his 50’s, that our order didn’t receive what it had stated in the menu in terms of what was listed to be in the order. He tried to say that they do it serve lettuce & tomato @ that location (Holden Ma.) & that the owner tells them not to serve lettuce & tomato!! After more series of lies he comes out with a plate FULL of lettuce & tomato which by that time was too late & should have been originally added to the cacedia during preparation. Then he tried to say that the menu says it comes on the side! I opened the menu & showed him that it said nothing of the sort. We did eat without getting what we paid for & after being lied to several times however will never return again !!!
