Absolutely beautiful new place in the heart of historic downtown Troy, on the first floor of the impressive Cannon Building! The staff was lovely (helpful, friendly and informative), and the atmosphere was clean, festive (gorgeous Day of the Dead theme!) and all around so welcoming! Most importantly, the food was delicious. Authentic Mexican, hand made tortillas. I had the burrito with all the fixings and my dad got three tacos. The presentation was gorgeous and it all tasted perfect. Would go again! Five starts!! Such a great new place

Had to get dinner quickly before an event and decided to give this place a try. I love a good Mexican chorizo torta and knew that’s what I wanted right away. It did not disappoint: light crispy bolillo roll, flavorful crumbled chorizo, tasty fresh shredded Oaxaca cheese, fresh crisp lettuce, chiles and tomatoes—the right amount of mayo (usually also comes with beans but I asked to leave those off just cause that’s my preference).

We had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Originally, we wanted to go to Taco Libre to get their amazing Birria pizzadilla, but they were closed. However, a someone from Taco Libre contacted Mex Cocina and they made a Birria pizzadilla especially for us. It was AMAZING They don’t normally make this menu item at all, but accommodated our family. I was so thankful for such wonderful kindness! Mex Cocina also has delicious burritos! The staff is so kind and helpful.

The burrito bowl consisted of nothing other than black beans, rice and the chipotle chicken that I added on. It was also 13.50 instead of 9.00 that the online menu showed. Seriously, the ingredients could not cost more than 2.00 all in.

I’ve been fantasizing about writing this review, and it’s finally here! They have reasonably priced, mouthwatering, and authentic Oaxacan cuisine in a clean, cool, restaurant that is conveniently on Memorial Square. Whether it’s Colombian Chicken( AND Mexican Chorizo) Empanadas packed full of memories, or an Agua Fresca( the Cucumber Lime is delicious… but the Watermelon is still my favorite) to help handle the summer heat; a visit inside is sure to leave you satisfied.
