I had visited this location of a Mexican restaurant several years ago and found the visit to be pleasant. However, last night’s visit was a nightmare. It started out as a pleasant dream being seated outside and being greeted by a pleasant waiter. I ordered a drink that didn’t have the price of it on the menu. My date and I ordered the fajitas. She had vegetarian and I had chicken. The guacamole that was initially brought out looked old and was a bit spicy. We reported this to a different waiter who immediately told us it was not spicy and I reiterated that it was spicy to us. He then said he would bring us out some fresh guacamole. The guacamole he brought was fresh and the difference from the first was like night and day. The fajitas were brought out steaming but it looked very burnt and overcooked. I was hungry so I ate most of mines but my date barely touched hers. I asked for the manager and he stopped at the table before ours to chat for over 5 minutes with another guest. Our waiter came back out and asked had the manager seen us and I said no. He looked surprised and said that’s him. He went over to the manager. The manager then went to a different table to chat. He finally made his way to our table. I informed him that I thought it was rude for him not visit until he finished chatting since we had requested him. I do understand taking time to talk to your guess but not ignoring a guest who requested you. I then told him about the spicy and what we considered old guacamole. He stated it was fresh and we must be mistaken and the waiter could not have brought us any other fresh guacamole. We had to have the waiter to come over who stated to him that he did tell us that the 2nd bowl of guacamole that he brought out was fresh and that they had just made it. The manager then stated that oh, that was avocado and not guacamole. I then asked could he take off the 2.99 that they clearly had written on the receipt as guacamole since he believed it was avocado. He did after making the comment that it only was 2.99. I then told him that the fajitas were overcooked. He went on to explain to me that some people liked them cooked that way. At this point I knew there was no reasoning with this manager. I asked him does he take time to listen to his guest. I paid the bill minus the 2.99 for what was avocado instead of guacamole and left the waiter about a tip. The waiter was good but of course I have no plans of visiting this restaurant again.

I was in the restaurant on 6/23/23 and my bill was 35.61 but when I looked at my bank account $40 was drafted. Pay attention if you use a card. I was warned by a friend but did not think too much about it until it happened to me. It’s only a couple of dollars but it’s the principle.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I bought the Mesquite Dip for my dinner. The server was really nice and service was fast. When I finally sat down to eat my food I saw a bug in my dip. I am really upset because the food looked really good. The price for the dip was really reasonable.

The food has always been delicious. I have never had a complaint before. I ordered shrimp burrito had refried beans & rice. My daughter ordered chicken burrito with beans & rice. My other daughter had a Taco salad & granddaughter had cheese dip. About 2am I had stomach problems til 5am. My daughter also had the same problem. Both of us who had beans & rice received food poisoning. I’m so disappointed had never had any problems eating at the restaurant before. Not sure when or if I will return.

We love this place! It’s our usual date night spot and also great with the extended family. Nancy at the bar is the best! Everyone is really nice and they are always cleaning everything. The prices are good and we’ve never been charged for extra chips and salsa with our meal like one review mentioned. Our family favorites are the mesquite dip, police special, fajitas, guacamole (they have both a chunky and a smooth version), and chorizo cheese dip. The 32 oz margaritas are great and come in several different options!! We are sure to be back soon!

DO NOT GO HERE. Once my favorite local Mexican restaurant, now nothing but the memory of 2+ days suffering from FOOD POISONING. I lost 2 days of work and suffered incredible misery.

This location is a joke, and the management is rude. At least the one that was there on 7/12/23 at 6 PM. First, I ordered the mango salmon, but I told the waiter I did not want the mashed potatoes and asparagus that came with it. Mashed potatoes and Mexican just don’t go together. Anywho, he brings it anyway. I ordered rice and beans as my side, which I thought would be replaced. So, I sent it back because the said mashed potatoes were running all over the plate and I could spot miles away, they were the cheap instant boxed mashed potatoes. Yuck! The asparagus looked old and dried up. But of course, our waiter did not understand English and took the plate back and brought back a completely dry salmon. Sir, I simply wanted my salmon off the plate with those nasty potatoes and asparagus. Had I known I was going to have to pay for both set of sides, I would have taken the salmon off myself as my other food was getting cold. I quickly remembered why I never come to this restaurant. Not to mention I nearly died at their McDonough location a few years back after expressing to them my having a severe shellfish allergy, they still cross contaminated my food, and I left there in an ambulance. I was only there because that is a mutual meeting place for my friends. Back to the salmon. It FINALLY came out, overcooked and smothered in that mango whatever, which looks NOTHING like the picture. I haven’t seen anything yet that does. After getting my $30+ check, I saw the manager and beckoned him over. I expressed that I could see paying an upcharge to sub sides, but the full price. I told him that other restaurants will charge you an upcharge for “premium” sides; however, watery mashed potatoes and old asparagus is not premium, and neither are their rice and beans for that matter. So I packaged this lack luster meal to go home. I opened the box this morning to prepare to try and eat the rest and there is a curly black hair in my food. Certainly isn’t mine! My hair is red, my other friend blonde and the other gray. No telling what else they put in my food being frustrated and I am most assured now my severe shellfish allergy was not understood and likely overlooked. The manager must have thought I was ignorant, but far from that. Could hardly understand what he was saying, so I shut that down really quick and sent him on his way and told him I would never patronize this place ever again and will tell all my friends. Good customer service these days is a complete joke. Keep driving! There are much better options than this horrific place. We had planned to meet here monthly, but that won’t be happening. Oh and my friends’ black beans were served cold. She didn’t even want to go through the trouble. RIDICULOUS!

This Grill is our go-to eat out location. Solid Mexican menu (I’m a native Texan) that is consistent along with the service. Always room at the table at Mesquite Grill and Bar!

Good Mexican restaurant. The menu choices are extensive, but I settled on the burrito bandera. The tortilla was a little soggy, but the meats were cooked well. Overall, it was delicious. Coconut shrimp were fried too long, but I’d try them again. The chips were crispy with just enough salt. The salsa had a little kick, so I really enjoyed that. It was St. Patrick’s Day so it was crowded, but we were seated quickly. The server was very attentive. My wife and I will visit this location again.
