My first time there….the people were nice. There was a wait. I waited over 30 minutes for my food, luckily I wasn’t in a rush. The prices on the large menu aren’t correct. The philly cheesesteak by itself was nearly $8. The food was delicious though. I guess you should call in your order if you’re in a rush.

I love seafood and try it everywhere i can. Not everyone knows how to prepare and cook it properly, this place blows alot of dedicated seafood restraunts out of the water. They have the best fried fish around. Fish is perfectly fried crispy and the slaw is really good too. Im a truck driver and i drive out of my way every Friday to come and get their fried fish plate. They know what they are doing in this kitchen, anyone wanting some good food and traveling south or north on I85 near Lannete/ Valley, Alabama should give this place a try you wont be disappointed.

Oh my goodness! I’m a diehard food critic and rarely find a restaurant that I like everything I order however this was a different experience because everything was seasoned, fresh and piping hot! The whole catfish was fried to perfection, the hush puppies were amazing, the coleslaw was delicious and the fries were even good. Fried green tomatoes and the homemade sauce, fried okra, hot wings, fried shrimp and chicken tenders were all AMAZING. You literally can not go wrong with anything you order and the owner is a very sweet and pleasant woman. Thanks for an amazing experience!

We were recommended this place from a friend as we visited the area. It was exacted what we were looking for. A good place with hot fish plate. We got the whiting plate, friend shrimp, and the hamburger steak with gravy and onions. We enjoyed our dinner and will definitely come back if we are in the area. Service was great too. She was very friendly and welcoming.

They serve the best comfort food that I’ve had a long time! Went in for lunch buffet is eat all you want you walk out there hungry it’s your fault! Awesome staff great service lemonade is to die for but sweet potato dumplings picture below it’s absolutely the most wonderful thing I’ve ever tasted in my whole entire life I want to go in the kitchen and propose to the lady that made it if you’re anywhere around valley Alabama or lanett Alabama you better stop and eat there!

Merl’s Diner is a great diner! It has catfish plate, chicken sandwich plate, and etc. Despite having high plate prices, Merl’s Diner, however, is still doing a great job on offering special lunchtime and dinner time to its customers. So bravo Merl’s Diner. Keep up the good work.
