This was an excellent place for good comfort food that tastes “homemade”. Merk’s is a classic diner style setting that shows some wear but the service and food push pass that. The waitress was on top of refills prep for our meal and anything else we might have needed. The food was fresh and full of flavor. Nothing fancy but exactly what you need at a good price. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Great food! Love the bacon, egg and cheese on a hard roll!! Staff is accommodating to your situation. Need to have a fast meal they’ll get your order, your food as soon as possible depending on how busy the kitchen is and get your check right to you. If you are looking to have a leisurely meal they’ll serve your food and be friendly about cleaning off the table then casually stop by to see if you need a beverage refill. Never pushy or neglectful. Wish more places had staff like this staff!!

Loved Mark’s place but this morning eating breakfast we all had told the waitress we would love our beacon crispy and was told that it was cooked in the microwave and that’s is crispy as it gets then processed to snatch it off my plate with her bare hands. I talked to the manager about this situation and needless to say she did NOT receive a tip. Manager said he would talk with this girl, but seriously doubt it.

There was no wait to seat when we arrived at 4ish on Saturday. Our server, Mary, was great. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Nice variety of desserts available. I opted for a peach shake. Yum!

Today was my first time eating at Merk’s Place in Farmville VA. All the wait staff are very friendly, and there are some humorous signs in this restaurant. I liked my salad, and it had loads of cheddar cheese. The menu has quite a large selection of meal choices, and I even splurged by getting a slice of delicious coconut cake!
