One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had! The wait staff was so friendly and attentive and the food was incredible.

Here’s a picture of the amount of meat I got in all of my 3 tacos for the $16 plate I paid for. You can see from my other taco that the meat was slightly undercooked and I couldn’t eat it. The service was good and also enjoyed the atmosphere. Definitely more of a tex mex place in my opinion.

Unfortunately the service was not good, and the food was even worse. There was so much grease on the plate that it was very unappetizing. When I asked the server if anything could be done, she said that it was beef, and that’s how it’s comes, so there’s nothing they can do about it.

To the owners: I used to live here and have always supported your restaurants. Was in town and had to go. Every thing was great, except…. The black hostess with the blonde braids. She definitely did not like white people and her job. She tried to force us to sit in the bar and we don’t drink. She was so annoyed that we wanted to sit in the dining room. Her presentation was scruffy and her attitude was horrible! 9/3 around 4:00 pm.

We planned a reservation at a high end restaurant for our anniversary and they didn’t have anything we asked for so we left and came to Mercado’s. First time coming here and the crazy designs inside threw me off but the drinks and food came out quickly and we’re amazing. The prices were great too. We ended up buying several things before we left, including a marionette for $5. Our anniversary dinner was even better than I expected. I recommend this place if you have never been.

John V, you are an exceptional server! You are the best server we have ever had in the 8 yrs of coming to Mercados! You were on top of everything, and that was juggling multiple tables during dinner time on a Saturday. We didn’t really have to ask for anything, and you were so pleasant. The food was great and we had a great dinner because of you! Overall, the inside could use some updates, but it doesn’t take away from the food! Honestly, I wouldn’t go elsewhere for fajitas.

Really like their salsa! The food was good, but the portion was small. I got a two item plate with rice and refried beans. The chimichanga was about the size of an extra large egg roll. I will say that I got full though.

25 years ago, Mercado’s was a place you took your girl on date night. Or you’d take your family here after church. Good food, good service, nice environment. I moved away 25 years ago and came back to Town to visit family. I brought my family to the best Mexican food restaurant in Tyler, Mercado’s. Today’s visit was not good. The waitress never brought more chips even though we asked and ordered green sauce for the 2nd basket of chips. Only got 1 refill even though we asked a few times for more. The green sauce showed up when we were almost done eating our meal. The waitress brought us the bill while we were still eating. Guess what…… We were charged 2 dollars for the green sauce even thought the chips never showed up and the sauce went uneaten. The beef enchiladas were extra salty. I bragged about this being the place to go in high school. Today, I was embarrassed to bring my family here.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in a while! We travel at ton, appreciate good food, and this place was a treat. Star of the show was the mushrooms, but the nachos were great too. Our waiter was also super nice and helpful. Beer was cold and priced right!
