THE BEST Deep Dish pizza ever!! We’ve been ordering here since it was Jake’s Pizza. We live out of town now, but every time we go to Elgin or anywhere in that area…. We ALWAYS have to stop to get a deep Dish sausage to bring home! Keep up the excellent work Mel’s Pizza! I give them a 10 + stars.

Best pizza in Elgin! Their thin crust is the absolute best. Not cracker thin but the proper thin for their sauce and toppings. I always get sausage with extra cheese. Yum!

Recently went there, dark when I went inside, eerie. So ordered food by phone, showed up 1/2 later. Back kitchen from what I saw was disgusting! Filthy. Like hasn’t been cleaned in years. The dough presser had a thick white film in the center of it. They used it to make my pizza! . They entire cleanliness factor gave me a bad taste about the pizza. The pizza was a little less then “ok” if I were to rate the others in Elgin. Would I go again? If the whole Elgin community donated about 2 days each to clean the place up? Maybe, other then that? Steer clear.

The best this pizza has been in years, and we have ordered here for almost 20 years. Tonight however was the 2nd time we’ve ordered and gotten a grossly wrong estimate on time of arrival. Last time we ended up picking it up ourselves an hour later and still waited. This time the pizza showed an hour later than promised. Running late is no problem, just present it to your customers ahead of time. I could’ve picked it up

This place used to be great when I was a kid, but now the pizza is the absolute worst I’ve ever had. It’s always burnt, there is no flavor or seasoning, it’s just like chewing gum, it’s awful! I’m so done giving this place a chance just because it was good in the past decades. But never again. I can’t even explain how awful the puzza here always is nowadays. You’ve lost a customer of 25 years…
