Picked this spot while driving out of town. Sat down and waited awhile to be served. Two other tables that sat after us were served before us. The waitress didn’t have a very good attitude. It wasn’t a great environment but the food was ok. I did ask for my eggs over easy, but they ended up REAL loose and had a weird taste to them. The papa Ranchera was not that good. The only things I enjoyed were the beans and steak. I’m not sure I’ll go back. The price didn’t match the food and it aint worth the kind of service we received. We were even charged for 2 teas when we ordered 2 waters. $6.50 ain’t much, but it’s something when you never ordered it.

Ordered the Papa a la mexicana (Potato Mexican style), Chorizo and bean and Barbacoa taco. The papa a la mexicana was very good, the chorizo and bean, a tad runny, the chorizo was different than the one I usually eat but it was ok. The Barbacoa was excellent, not greasy. Tortillas were good, not as good as Carrettas tortillas across from the post office on Perrin Beitel, but not bad. Based on that I think I will order there lunch and dinner plate and see how those are!

I liked the tortillas, the tea was good. Sodas are cans or bottles(mex). The chips and salsa was different than most places kind of watery and not like a traditional tomato salsa. Green salsa was good. The carne guisada was more roast beef than guisada, barbacoa was good and not greasy, papas rancheros – the potatoes were boiled instead of fried and there was little to no ranchero sauce, bean and chorizo was soupy and smoky flavored. I didn’t hate it, but I probably won’t be back.

My husband an I were going to stop by Subway for a bite to eat, and noticed this location right next door and decided to give it a try. Cute place. Bigger inside than it seems from the outside. You seat yourself when you walk in. We were just going to check out the menu and get any sort of vibe from the place before we decided to eat here. They have one burrito option with choice if beef or shredded chicken. You can also get it with bell pepper and onions. We tried to ask each waitress some questions about the place. Don’t think the first 2 understood us. Our third and final waitress stayed with us through the rest of our visit. We decided on the shredded chicken burrito and I got mine with bell peppers and onions. We were both pleased with our dishes. The chips and salsa were good, chips weren’t greasy. The dining area was kept pretty clean along with their restrooms. Would go again and recommend to others.

I’m not much of a restaurant reviewer but this time I will. I love this place and I’ve been coming here for years and the food is always delicious, the carne guisada, the beef and chicken fajita tacos and the empanadas! The breakfasts are also very tasty! and the attention of all the people who work there is incredible, always with a smile they make you feel at home! and the atmosphere and decoration make me feel like a little piece of Mexico. I definitely recommend it. reading other reviews I saw negative comments about the service which for me is a lie, they have always treated me very well, I recommend that you go and see for yourself.

Wow! Every server in the place was smiling and friendly. The wait time on food was reasonable. Our server was quick to acknowledge it was our 1st time to the restaurant and how she had never seen us before. She was very helpful in assisting my sister to ensure her plate was keto friendly. Highly recommended!

First time here at the Melendez Mexican Restaurant and the food was actually pretty good. I had the shredded chicken burrito and my wife had the same, but with bell peppers and onions. Chips and salsa were pretty good. Chips weren’t greasy at all as you find at some Mexican restaurants. The homemade tortillas were great! Very tasty. Customer service could’ve been better. We went through 3 waitresses for some odd reason without any explanation. And our finale waitress needs a little refresher course. Never did she ask what we wanted to drink, but did a good job at coming by every so often to check in on us. Bathroon was a little on the dirty side and the garbage was overflowing so much so that trash was on the floor. Takeaway… good food, ok service, and the cleanliness should be better.
