YUM! We spent a few months living in India and were craving some good Indian food. We came in on Friday night, were seated immediately and ordered soon afterwards. Food came out quickly. The service was great. We had the Dal Makhani, Butter Chicken, Rogan Josh and lots of garlic naan – all delicious! Sure, it might be a little pricey, but we are in Tahoe. Would recommend!

Firstly the food was very bad for the extremely high prices they have charged for each dish. The biryani was made out of frozen veggies with some blend of curry powder and tons of turmeric and food color. It tasted chalky at the end. The vegetable were half cooked and the biryani wasn’t even served hot. We ordered two curries that came with rice (very dry and not completely cooked). Baingan barta had a unbalanced tangy flavor overpowering any leftover flavor of the curry it self and was served cold as well. Paneer butter masala was a gravy made of tons of food color, kasuri methi and canned tomato purée with no spice mix added to it. We ordered onion kulacha and garlic naan that hardly had any garlic in it. The naan was either uncooked or overly burnt.

How can you go wrong with a simple paneer Kadhai and a quintessential butter chicken dish? I would have given 0 stars if that was an option.. ordered two entrées.. one veg (paneer Kadhai) and another as butter chicken.. online ordering didn’t go through so had to call and place the order .. no sweat thus far.. but I sincerely feel that a 26 mins round trip with an anticipation of delicious Indian food in comfort of North Tahoe deserves a reciprocation! Boy, I was disappointed as hell! The paneer curry was farthest from being a curry dish and superficially made. The butter chicken was the absolute worst I had in my 40 years on this planet.. ( I re-read the last sentence 5 times and still believe it).. please go for it if Rubbery chicken is your type! It’s not mine, so am sorry!

To go order: samosa chaat (did they forget to put yogurt? Normally there’s yogurt, tamarind and mint. My husband ate it anyway. I’m a rice lover so seeing this huge pile of rice is a big yes for me. Both paneer saagwala and navratan korma tasted good. Pricey though $20 each dish (comes with rice) and samosa chaat is $10.

As one of the only Indian places in North Lake Tahoe we were not impressed. The food tastes nothing like what it’s supposed to. We ordered 4 items none of them tasters close to what they are suppose to.

Went in on a Saturday night and the place was empty. We quickly discovered why – the entire place smells like a restroom. We sat down and started looking at the menu but the smell was too much to handle. We changed our order to-go and told the server we were leaving because of the smell. A gentleman who worked there told us there was a sewer issue. Friends of ours say it’s been that way for months. It’s truly an unacceptable environment. We ate the food at a nearby park and we were relieved to be breathing fresh air. The food is expensive but tasty. To the owners/management – you really need to solve the smell/sewage problem ASAP.

As someone who looks for authentic indian food, I had no expectations in a mountain town. I was hoping to get something decent. Thoroughly disappointed. We ordered chicken Tikka masala, tandoori platter, and naan. Worst indian food I have ever eaten. The tandoori chicken in the platter was sweet. The chicken in the Tikka masala was stale and not cooked properly. The curry in the Tikka masala was just bad. And to top it all, the prices are just ridiculous. Not to mention there is a funny smell in the restaurant itself.
