I grew up in McLean, and it took me over two decades to finally visit one of the oldest places in town! I came for breakfast on a Thursday morning, and was quite excited to try it out. When we arrived, we were sat down pretty quickly (the place was quite full for a weekday morning). I ordered the heart-healthy omelet, which was honestly just average. I was a bit disappointed, as I had pretty high expectations.

The place is beautiful and very clean. Family owned, with so many varieties. Perfect service with bilingual waiters, very kind. The food was delicious, I ordered hot sub steak and cheese. Average price for the place, around $12-$14 pp.

I ordered the western omelet with home fries and coffee. I was thinking of ordering the crab cakes Benedict and probably should have. My omelet was ok. It definitely needed more seasoning. My brother in law said the crab cakes were delicious. My nieces French toast and homemade Danish was amazing. For me, it was a solid 3. I love these type of little diners. If I return (I’m on vacation) I’m going to try something different.

This is the best breakfast place to eat at and I’m very picky me and my grandma love coming here every saterday morning and gets this egg and omlet and I get the waffle it’s really good over all you should come the food has good flavor and the staff are very nice

Food was good and classic. I went to lunch and was quick. It can be hard to find a parking space when it’s really busy. Service was a little slow at the start but several people were seated right before me. The wait staff was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall a great meal

Clean quite atmosphere. Our waiter Hector was wonderful, polite and on top of everything. I took my father out for an event at Capital One Hall decided to stop here for dinner before the event. He was over the moon with quality of the food. Eggs cooked to perfection. Thank you for helping make his night wonderful.

Losing a customer has always been extremely hard for us at MFR. Losing one of our own is heartbreaking. Our beloved Elisa Bosch passed away on February 24, 2021. Lisa worked for our family for close to 40 years. She pledged her loyalty to the restaurant and for that we are forever grateful. Lisa’s infectious smile and warm inviting personality made her loved by all, both fellow employees and our customers. You will never come across a person more honest and she made the world a better place to live in. I think I speak for us all at McLean Family Restaurant when I say that I am blessed to have known Lisa and an even bigger honor to have called her my friend. We love you Elisa and miss you. ❤️
