This place was decent. Our service was slow and the food was okay. I had the jalapeño poppers that were deep fried and extremely spicy. Too spicy for my taste and the nachos were okay, way too much lettuce. The chips and cheese they give you for dining in was the best part.

We had a rare date night with the family. The restaurant was absolutely freezing inside the restaurant, so we ate in the outside patio. Service was pretty slow. The food was so-so and reminiscent of cafeteria food. I ordered the beef tips. Meat was tough and chewy. I liked the steamed broccoli, though. My husband ordered the Tuscan Dinner and didn’t like the chicken but ate everything else. My daughter had penne with marinara from the kid’s menu. Her noodles looked overcooked but she ate quite a bit. Prices were decent. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a “kids eat free” deal going on, so we saved $7 for the pasta entree. Won’t be going back with so many better restaurants in the area.

We’ve eaten at McBrides North many times and never really had any issues. The last 2 trips the service was virtually nonexistent. Yesterday we went in, and it said to seat ourselves. We picked a spot in the middle of a bunch of other occupied tables. The server in our area spent most of her time at a table (right next to ours), with I’m only assuming we’re her friends, conversing and laughing. She walked by our table 4 times without a word or even eye contact, each time returning to the table with her friends. She even sat down for a minute to continue talking. After 10 minutes or zero service, we got up and left. We went to another business down the street and that server got a very generous tip.

We started with the pulled pork egg rolls. So good! Their chips and cheese they serve you with your drinks are fantastic. I had the club and my wife had the BBQ burger. Both were excellent and huge portions!

Had the combination appetizer platter. The burgers were over cooked and very dry no toppings! The chicken was over cooked and tuff. The portions were very small. I could see that if the quality was better, I’m sure if they tasted the food they would change things.

The food was delicious here! I’ve gone a few times now and got something different every time and it has never disappointed. Complimentary chips and delicious Queso are a great way to start any meal too. Definitely recommending this place to friends and family.

A Groupon was my first introduction, and I’ve been a big fan ever since. A great atmosphere, really good food, from a menu with a lot of choices. While I wish the outdoor seating area was free of smokers – which I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be by Illinois law, I like it enough to find a comfortable place indoors.
