Food was tasty, ordering service left a bit to be desired…. Order attendant was not very helpful and didn’t clarify how things worked when asked about daily soups…. Water needs to be filtered in order to provide customers with a better tasting water during the dining experience. The individual who delivered the order was so nice, attentive and pleasant. I will return, would recommend this place….. With the emphasis, to watch out for your understanding of how things work during the ordering process.

Since the move I have been unimpressed by the service and atmosphere. The staff/customer interaction was warmer at the old location and that was what made it special. That seems to be missing at new location. It’s still a okay place to get some comfort food.

GO HERE! Highly recommend! Jake (the GM) and his staff could not be kinder. I have a severe gluten allergy and they are so patient with me. Emily has been helping me a lot lately. They take allergies very seriously, I could not be happier eating here. Have never gotten sick. If you are gluten free, you can eat a lot. The veggie chili (no saltines) is gluten free. Get the ultimate nachos with the veggie chili (gluten free). All sandwiches (check individual ingredients) can be made with GF bread. I have had the 4 cheese melt, the Ruben, the club, and the new yorker. All good. Most if not all the potatoes are gluten free. The salads (I think all of them) are gluten free with no croutons. I usually get a choose 2. A sandwich and the ultimate nachos with the veggie chili. I can not say enough good things about this location – Athens TX.

Food and service are always wonderful! A team that clearly cares about their customers and their experience there! The place is clean and waitstaff are constantly walking around offering assistance to anyone that needs anything. Very well trained employees and staff. Management is always visible and interacting! Great place we HIGHLY recommend.

They need to stop selling what they call ultimate nachos because they were far from ultimate and definitely not worth the money we spent for two! Just go buy a bag of tortilla chips! For $4 and throw a jar of sausage and can of chili on them! What a disappointment!

3 things were wrong while ordering at McCallister Deli in Athens Tx, starting off I ordered a King Club and the bread was soggy as if it was left out for a couple hours when I had ordered only 10 minutes prior to picking up like instructed to by the person on the phone, that was the first mistake. Upon picking up my order I was told the total was 22.38, after handing Dolese my card, I received a notification on my phone stating that I was charged 24.45. I thought it was odd considering she stated a different total, I figured she must have mistaken the total or something. After being charged she simply left the cashier in a hurry without handing my receipt, I knew something was wrong, so I waited for her to come back to get my receipt and after receiving it, I realized I was charged for a tip I never was asked about. I have no trouble tipping as I understand the work the food industry workers go through, although I have a HUGE problem with theft and although I was only charged 2 dollars extra the fact of the matter is, I was never given the option to tip. After realizing what she had done I went back to ask her what this was about and she stated that “the machine automatically tips” with a big grin on her face, I knew she was lying because I always go though drive thru and I have NEVER had this issue, this is a matter of poor employee training, I called the manager and she was very polite about everything and informed her about my situation, she offered me a refund on the tip but this whole ordeal is not about money it is about honesty and Integrity, which is clearly lacked. I was also disappointed to see that the strawberry purée I ordered was not added, but I was charged for it, pity.

The food is ok… about the only healthy food in Athens. The new location has HORRIBLE parking. You cannot order at the drive through. Poor decisions for the new location.
