I visited on a Friday afternoon to get some pre-movie eats convenient to the University Mall Theater just two minutes walk away. On this occasion, staff appeared busy with a large catering order but still served me promptly and cordially. After being politely corrected about what I could select as part of the Choose Two option (not two half sandwiches — my mistake entirely), I landed on a half New Yorker sandwich and a half southwest chicken salad along with sides of tomato and cucumber salad, steamed broccoli, and fruit. The ordering and payment process flowed smoothly, as the attendant confirmed my order before I paid. My food was cheerfully delivered to my table within what seemed five minutes, pleasantly quick under the circumstances.

This is the best find! It is tucked away behind the Giant Food Store at Rt. 123 and Braddock Road.

Walked in to a foul smell… Stood at the counter for at least five minutes while the cashier continued to sweep the floor. It was as though we were invisible. Absolutely no desire to take our order. Needless to say we left. These are not signs of a good restaurant. It’s a shame. I’m from Indianapolis and the locations there are phenomenal. This one shouldn’t be a place. Do better please.

Heather, the manager at McAlister’s, excels at meeting the needs of her customers. With a smile, she makes the extra effort to make your dining experience memorable. On a visit earlier this week, I rode my bike over for lunch and ordered their famous refreshing tea. Seeing that the drink cup might spill in my water bottle cage, she wrapped it in cellophane, effectively sealing it from leaking. Who on God’s good Earth goes to such lengths to make customers happy? Heather and crew! Let’s not forget Justin, Hanna and the other personable staff there!

This store has ZERO knowledge of customer service. Their app/ system makes frequent mistakes about orders with promotions but the managers don’t bother to exercise some authority to honor customers in return of major inconveniences. It doesn’t matter if you receive confirmation emails. You arrive at the store to find that their system didn’t let the order go through (again despite sending out confirmation email). When you ask the manager to honor the order because it’s their fault, they don’t seem to be bothered and resist assisting the customer. They’d rather lose a customer than use their discretion to fix an issue from their side. When you can’t fix a problem just because “the system doesn’t allow” you, then you’re living in the middle ages and you will drive your business to the ground. Good luck with this management style.

Went in to McAlister’s Deli couple times and I experienced long wait time, store remain under staff and rude management. They don’t know what they are doing and this place is nothing more than a disgrace on University Mall community. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else on lunch and you will really thank me for that recommendation.

I’ve had salads from this place multiple times and they were OK. Nothing outstanding, but edible. Today I had Caesar salad and it was terrible. The quantity was a joke, a really small amount. The worst part is the lettuce was so old and rotten. I spent as much time taking out the rotten lettuce leaves and look for what I can eat as eating. The photo doesn’t capture the details but I hope it at least shows some of the rotten leaves. I suspect the lettuce was about 2 weeks old (I know bc I buy and eat Romaine lettuce at home so know when they start rotting). Absolutely unacceptable.

I’ve heard rave reviews about this place and while it didn’t blow my mind, it was good. The servings are a bit small but the cashiers were nice and efficient, and the food came out quickly. My biggest gripe is the disparity between their fountain drink and water cups. I think that’s a leading cause of so many health problems in the US as a whole.

My go-to place for a quick lunch. I’m obsessed with their jalapeño turkey crunch sandwich and their famous tea. They are consistent with the quality of their food and drink! Happy to recommend them.
