We were heading home from a weekend getaway in upstate New York and passed through the town of Scranton, specifically to give this place a go since all of the reviews online seemed positive. It’s a small town, old-fashioned cafe with great food, coffee, friendly people and excellent service. Very easy to miss if you’re not really paying attention as it is in a building that appears mostly vacant. I had the Tomato, Onion and cheese omelet with home fries. The omelet was so delicious and full of flavor and the home fries were moist and flavorful as well. It was apparent this location is a hot spot for the locals as there was a old time comraderie amongst the employees and customers which was a breathe of fresh air as it seems most businesses these days don’t care to develop a relationship with their customers.

Sunday morning in search for some Breakfast in Scranton, Excellent reviews here so i decided to check them out. Visiting from N.Y knowing these Reviews and ratings can possibly be overrated until we walk in and experience it. Not the case here. Interesting location “hole in the wall” place in a good way of course with a Vintage vibe. Very small and cozy. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, you can tell this place had regulars as they all walked in and were greeted by name. A neighborhood favorite. Ordered homefries , Eggs, whole wheat toast and completely unorthodox to me Sausage. The homefries I have to say some of the best around, nice and crispy totally unique should be a staple at this place. Well cooked suasuage. The wife enjoyed her Kielbasa Omelet and highly approved. The kids (which are extremely picky) Tried to take down their Blueberry pancakes but couldn’t accept the texture, although they were delicious. The waitress accommodated us for those which was unexpected , but it clearly shows how they’re appreciated due to customer concerns. If you’re in search for a quality breakfast in the area don’t think twice. Drop in you’ll be glad you did.

My husband and I were getting ready to shop for Christmas and decided to pop in based on the reviews. AMAZING breakfast! It is a very small hole in the wall, but all the best places are. They made us feel very welcome and we left happy. We will be returning! Homefries, sausage, and scrambled eggs with toast! You won’t be disappointed!

My family and I could not find a single diner open for breakfast near us this morning so I turned to Google to find something and I was lucky enough to come across Mc Ilwee’s. This is our first time ordering so I cannot say how their lunches/dinners are but we got two bacon egg and cheese bagels and they were wonderful! Also extremely cheap, fast, and the woman who took my order was so very friendly.
