Our restaurant specializes in great food and catering to our patrons from May 19th to Labor Day weekend. We want every one of you who are dining with us to have an exceptional experience. We are proud to serve local Iowa pork and beef products along with fresh Seafood flown into the Lakes area.
During the afternoon enjoy looking over beautiful West Lake Okoboji while enjoying a refreshing cocktail and great food. As evening approaches, join us to watch an incredible sunset with excellent dishes that meet everyone’s liking and pair that dish with a glass of wine from our extensive wine list. The firework show every Saturday night through-out the summer is especially breathtaking from our patio.

I enjoyed a beautiful evening at Maxwells. Jumbo seared scallops with asparagus, prosciutto and I suspect home made noodles. It was rich and delicious. Accompanied with their take on an old fashioned and evening views of the lake and sunset.

I had reservations inside and it was one of the best restaurants I have been to! The food is very high quality. The house salad was surprisingly flavorful for being mostly just greens. My salmon was absolutely incredible – cooked perfectly and wonderful sauce. Veggies were also cooked to perfection. Be prepared to pay a good amount of money, but for high quality food! Unfortunately, there were a few very drunk individuals in the tea that made it so we had to yell just to speak to each other from across the table. I was also shocked that the dessert menu was just a few different types of cakes; I would expect a bit more variety in options. Great place and I highly recommend!!

Our family has been coming up to Okoboji multiple times a summer for quite a few summers and we typically have our places that we eat. Over the last few summers we have been trying different eating establishments and today, June 4th, for lunch we decided to try Maxwell’s for the first time and we were impressed with the service and the food. My wife ordered the avocado toast, our daughter the kids angel hair pasta, which comes with a Frisbee under the plate for the kids, and myself the seared tuna sandwich. All of the food was cooked perfectly, the sauces with each were very good and we all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We all agree overall a great place to eat and relax.

Absolutely love eating here. Definitely make a reservation in advance. I have seen plenty of people get turned away. The atmosphere is very friendly and upscale inside. If you’re looking for a place for a nice date this is it. But if you are looking for something more casual you can dine on the patio.

Took 15 minutes before our waitress came to our table. Had only one bartender. Our meal finally came to us after an hour. Food was good. Way too expensive for the service. Live and learn.
