This is the one restaurant I couldn’t wait to try, and now it’s the one restaurant I can’t wait to get back to. Made reservations weeks in advance (highly suggested). Restaurant itself is airy with great a great playlist. Started with the Pugliese salad and the Tonno bruschetta. The salad was delicious and unexpected, I couldn’t get enough. The tuna was so fresh and delightful, I would have not expected it to be on bruschetta. I might have preferred it sans bread more. Huge wine list by the bottle, was expecting more on the by the glass side. Daughter had Chicken Parm – organic chicken with a delicious breading. Husband got the Bolognese. I hit the jackpot with the Butternut squash Ravioli. I ate very slowly and cut the pieces small to enjoy every bite (and so excited that I forgot to take a picture..all that was left was the sage leaf). It was out of this world! Mille grazie for our amazing meals. We’d love to return.

We brought my dad and stepmother here while they were on vacation. They agreed that it was the best Italian they have ever had. Michael was our server, and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. He made us feel like VIPs. He helped us choose the perfect wine for our dinner. They, also, have a decent selection of vegan and vegetarian options. From beginning to end, this place knocked it out of the park.

I recently visited Matteo’s Osteria for my anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We tried the bruschetta, gnocchi all of which were cooked to perfection. Additionally, they have a wide range of wine selections to choose from. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or just a night out.

One of the best restaurants on Maui for quality delicious food that always pleases. Our server Mike made us feel at home and made our experience a delight. Best value for the money. I’ve lived on Maui over 40 years and Matteo’s continues to get better and better while other restaurants just get worse and more expensive and not worth the money. This is a top notch value restaurant and if you like wine, they have a very extensive wine selection. All their wines are kept at the proper temperatures in their fancy “wine cellar”.

I’ve been coming here for several years with my family and make at least 2 reservations each time we visit the island. After being seated, I asked our server to recommend some dairy free dishes to accommodate my allergy. The server said he designed the menu himself and it’s all clearly written out which dishes have diary and told me to read the menu myself (???). I’m familiar with the menu and I know how to read. Rude..and borderline insulting. He then pushes hard to order drinks. After I declined, he asked two more times to really trying to upsell which I declined. Things just went downhill after, especially when he didn’t come back to take our order for 30 minutes. Typical scenario of discrimination for patrons who do not order drinks. I walked over and asked a hostess to speak to a manager. Our server came over and told me he’s the acting manager – great. I explained to him my distaste on how he had been treating us so far. He came up with many excuses – they’re short staffed, he was managing 3-4 tables by himself, how he didn’t mean to offend me when he literally told me to read the menu myself. The rest of the meal, I was treated very differently and the server barely made eye contact. The management doesn’t seem to cage about guest experience solely based on lack of participation on google reviews (none actually). So so food, jacked up price and mediocre service Definitely won’t be coming back.

This place is not traditional Italian. It was alright. I have high expectations because I use to live in Italy. The gnocchi was cooked too long. The noodles weren’t Al dente. We got brought store brought parmigiano. The oil and balsamic was in a ramekin instead of a plate. If you haven’t ever been to Italy then you might like it. It wasn’t terrible just wasn’t real Italian. I was also put off by getting prosciutto as add on to my gnocchi and it not actually being added into the dish I had to tear it up and add it myself. That was very weird to receive. The bruschetta was delicious. The superfood salad was ok, not enough dressing, and mostly just lettuce.
