My first time at Matilda’s Kitchen was exceptional! Pamela was most helpful in seating us and making sure we were comfortable. She answered all of our questions and gave us some great recommendations for outdoor activities. The environment was beautiful and relaxing. We felt like we were on vacation. The food was delicious and didn’t take long to come out. Gustavo our waiter was really nice and accommodating as well. He had a very good sense of humor. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area, you will not regret.

The food is absolutely over priced. The drinks were good but I ordered the lamb chops cooked Medium well only received 3 lamb chops all well done, could not swap out the rice and beans for another side. my friend got steak medium rare her however her steak came medium well. The food took a long time to come out, our server was nice but rarely came to check up on us.

Pamela, Belkis & Gustavo were amazing. They truly care about how their customers feel. I came in and sat down alone while waiting for a friend to arrive. They took great care to make sure I was comfortable and having a good time. The food was so good! I got the jerk salmon. Def recommend! Loved this experience.

The food is delicious, thoughtful prepared and served expediently. The environment is clean and welcoming. Being connected to the lobby of a hotel, it’s busy but not in an overwhelming way. The owner (who’s name is not Matilda BTW) is friendly and approachable. The DJ understands his craft and the assignment. The menu combines traditional French cuisine with Caribbean flavor uniquely making it a one of a kind dining experience for South Beach. Definitely recommend.

if i could do zero stars i would. on my honeymoon flew here for one night before flying to our final destination. i just found out i am pregnant so i ordered a virgin drink and immediately the servers demeanor changed. he served all the tables that came in after us. was out front on his phone continuously ignoring us. my husband did order an alcoholic drink and we ordered food as well. finally after about 20 minutes without even bringing water over he brought our drinks i said thank you and he proceeded to roll his eyes at us and sigh as he walked away. needless to say we left. this business discriminates against pregnant woman, they want you to get large drinks and get drunk so they make more money off of you. highly recommend not going here if you want good service.

They charge a 20% tip/service charge on everything on the menu. we waited 30 mins for a breakfast when there was no one here and we were forced to give the 20% when they deserve 0 for the wait and lack of service. You guys don’t deserve 20%!! Especially in this economy other people deserve that tip way more. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they just replate food from other places. Do not come here unless you love being scammed. Otherwise if you didn’t check Google reviews like me you’re getting screwed on mid food for insane prices
