Had always wanted to try Mateo Kitchen since it is the only Filipino restaurant around and was finally able to make it out there. We started with the tteokbkki and we couldn’t finish with how many there were! It was something new to try and I’m so glad I did, I will definitely be getting it again. I got the pancit malabon and it was juuuuust right. The noodles were thinner than what I thought, but with how many toppings there were I’m glad they were thin otherwise it would’ve been too much. Friend got the beef stew…that didn’t look like traditional stew?¿?¿ but she said it was phenomenal nonetheless. She also had the milk free honeydew boba tea that I’m jealous I didn’t get. I just love those lil boba pearls! I love that Siouxland has this restaurant to showcase the diversity we have. Can’t recommend it enough!

Use to be good, they change a few things like the Halo Halo, pay a lot for mostly milk, they change the cup and design, and prices went up. Use to love the food. I hate to leave this review, but have to let people know what change. Don’t know if we will ever come back.

We met the owners. They seem.like wonderful people and it is because of them that I give this 5 stars. The food was good and I plan on going back until I’ve tried everything on the menu. The prices are good and they have an interesting little section where you can buy various condiments etc. This is not a 5 star restaurant that has a dress code, although I’m sure they prefer that you are wearing something. It is not a fancy atmosphere with a highly trained staff to serve your every need. But as far as good flavorful food,, enjoyment, satisfaction, and general well being it is a 4 or 5 star experience.

The barbequed pork with garlic rice was amazing. Even the veggies were cooked/seasoned to perfection. While there is seating, this isn’t a typical sit-down restaurant. You order and pay for your food at the counter. The sizes are not overwhelming big, so you can order an appetizer without worrying about finishing your main course.

The food is ok. Just ok. Its pricey heres a situation and a little math. I asked for an over easy egg and was charged $2 for it! As of right now the average cost of a dozen eggs is $2.88 meaning .24 cents per egg. That’s a mark up of over 800%! That’s criminal I don’t care about paying someone to cook something but that much of a mark up?! They won’t get anymore of my money.
