Averagely priced Indian restaurant with south and North Indian options. However, I wouldn’t recommend this place because of the taste. We had batura/channa masala and rolled (paneer) dosa and both turned out to be very average. The batura was thick and required a little effort to chew/eat.

I would highly recommend the masala dosa at this place. It was nice and crunchy. The chutneys and sambhar are amazing and the owner tries a lot to get you the spice level you need which I really appreciated. Very polite customer serve. The Indian chai can do better.

Rude doesn’t quite do justice to the indifferent then divisive service I encountered at Masala Cafe. Plus while waiting over 40 minutes longer than anticipated to pick up my family’s dinner I can attest to the flaunting of COVID regulations on numbers and spacing of patrons allowed inside their establishment.

This is a relatively small place tucked away in a non-descript plaza. Parking is relatively easy. We ordered the paneer Tikka which was exceptional. The accompanying salad with berries on the side was very good. Not just an afterthought, thrown together as is the wont in most restaurants.

We had ordered Veg Biryani and Butterscotch Pastry. Veg Biryani was bland and didn’t have potato,onion,peas,green beans. Instead broccoli,snow peas, cauliflower were added and it was definitely lacked masalas.

We went on a day trip and was checking dinner options on our way home to Fremont on Saturday. Masala Desi Cafe came up in my search , when I read about the wait time was in 2 minds as the food reviews were good but there was complaint on wait time. We saw their menu and really liked their choices so took the chance. And am really glad we did give them a try. Excellent food , ordered their Garlic Naan, masala wedges , samosa chat, Paneer butter masala and biriyani. They were upfront with me when I called , said will take 35 mins as their kitchen was busy , we had the time to reach their restaurant so decided to take it. We received a text once our order was ready. When we went to pickup the place was pretty organized and we’re taking COVID precautions on Saturday. They were letting one person at a time only. They had a board giving instructions. Spoke to the owner he was very friendly and upfront that they just started and are still working out the logistics but very passionate about delivering great quality food. It is a small place so limited man power. The food was delicious and one of the best Indian food we have had in the peninsula. Overall very happy that we decided to give this restaurant a try.

Arriving a little early, the place was almost empty so I took the opportunity to ask the waiter what he recommends while waiting for my friend. Two minutes later there is food in front of me and I never ordered anything, or so I thought. Fifteen minutes later my friend showed up, the food of course was cold. He then ordered and waited 20 minutes for his food, in between the waiter brought me another dish, the one I actually wanted… The warm food was good, the cold food was meh, the service is clearly suspect.
