Ma’s House is a Westville soul food gem. I went there for lunch and the owner was cool and got started right away with my food. I loved the neat and pretty plating of my meal. this was not expected for a to-go meal but it certainly shows the attention to detail Ma’s House uses and was the preview to a delicious meal! Chicken tenders and fries for $12, can’t beat it. Will come back again

The Cashier wasn’t very friendly. I paid 3$ for a canned soda. The yams are canned and they are like soup. The Mac cheese was mediocre the chopped bbq had a cute flower on it. I don’t want anything on my food that isn’t edible. That’s an easy way to spread germs onto people’s food. Cornbread was good but not fully cooked. Overall not worth the price. Try Trap Chicken or Poes’ in Bridgeport. Thank me later.

I went for the first time this Saturday and it was absolutely amazing. The food was great, the music was enjoyable and the staff were super friendly. I believe the prices are reasonable and I will be back for seconds! My picky kids loved it so that says so much!!!

I stumbled across this place visiting from out of town. Walked in the smell of the food hit me at the door I KNEW it was going to be good. Staff was amazing. Music was playing. The food is worth the wait…. This whole place for the soul…. The food, the people, the ambiance… THE FOOD!! I will be back.

Fried fish, grits & cornbread are delicious! Fish was seasoned well & fried hard just like I like it. Grits were buttery. Cornbread is melt in your mouth! Staff is kind & welcoming; music is on point! Only critique I would offer is that the service was a bit slow & my eggs weren’t hot when they came out. Otherwise the restaurant is gorgeous & decorated with a home touch!

Service was extremely slow. Apparently they had another event happening later in the day and they were also setting up for that while doing brunch. It really impacted our service. Once the food was served after waiting 35 minutes for it to eventually get to our table, the food was dissapointing. The shrimp and grits were greasy and the chicken and waffles tasted like they were precooked from Sysco. Biscuit was doughy. Truly dissapointing.

Disappointing if you are in the mood for a down home breakfast do not go to Ma’s House. The staff was friendly but untrained in restaurant service often seeming confused and needing to check with the manager on offerings.
