We were so excited to finally try this little gem out…we were not disappointed! Food and Service was amazing. We all had different breakfast plates. Real chicken fried steak, bacon, sausage sunnyside up eggs, pancakes, scrambled eggs, Western omelet, biscuits, gravy and the best dang hashbrowns. Thanks for a great breakfast..hopefully soon we can try out those Burgers and fried Catfish!

Mary’s is a tasty little roadside cafe. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The setting has the feel of a converted house with several medium-sized rooms. The food is Texas home cooking.

The food was good, not the best. The chicken fried chicken had grease on the bottom of the chicken, so wasn’t that impressed. I have had better, the fried okra which is actually breaded okra could’ve been cooked longer. The fries were good, seasoned just right and the roll was good, just no butter for it. The peach cobbler was ok, wasn’t something to brag about. I think I was ignored most of the time because I was alone because I had to wait for a to go box. The staff was friendly, just no sign to let some that has never been there where or what to do. Not informed of the fee for credit card charges.

Food was good. I had to go find the server twice for help. First time I’ve been in any place where there is a smoking section.

There was only 1 other person in the big room we sat in. So obviously not busy. We sat for at least 10 minutes or longer. The waitress finally came and the first words out of her mouth was…’We couldn’t figure out if you was some kind of hippie or what.’ (My friend had on a bandana.) He wasn’t offended but I was very embarrassed. I suggested we go here bcuz the foods always great, no matter what you order. It was today, too. He left her a big tip and I told her, I guess hippies tip well. She did apologize to him as she checked us out. But this is why I only gave a 3 star for service and atmosphere. We didn’t feel welcome. This hasn’t ever happened before there. There’s no excuse for her behavior.

I had not been to Mary’s for quite some time. I was heading south on Tin Top highway and started craving a burger. Mary’s came to mind. I did not get the burger, because I saw something better… A Reuben! It was delicious. Now I definitely want to come back for a burger, or one of the daily specials.

It doesn’t get better than this for home cooking. I got the fried catfish. Serving size was more than ample. And thank you for the breakfast biscuit! I’m a decent cook but your biscuits are better than mine! YUM!!

First time here and the food was delicious. Home cooking at its finest! I had the catfish and was delicious. I wanted potato salad but they were out, which is odd because it was lunch time. But overall everything was delicious!

Mary’s Brazos at Tin Top is a top notch place for seafood and steaks and burgers. Just a great downhome place to eat, great prices and very good food. I have had several things, but this was Friday night (10/15/21) and had the all you can eat. Whew!!! Was I full and out the door for $28 for 2 people. Feast your eyes on this good stuff. Stuffed shrimp, fried clams and fried catfish. Some of the best coleslaw ever with a nice thin sauce. Potatoes are top notch and some of the best white gravy and it tastes great on everything; even my finger.
