Food was terrible! It’s was hard and tasted old. Plus my strip meal was very small. Noting like the Maryland I used to love when I was in college. Not worth the money AT ALL!!

I’m a little Prejudice I have had plenty of real Maryland style Maryland in Maryland like Hip Hop Chicken around Baltimore which is absolutely the best and I have also had this very same chain in Plant City Florida it’s always excellent and hot however this restaurant was none of these things. I thought I was getting a spicy sauce it was a sweet and sour Chinese sauce on little pieces of chicken tender and they weren’t really hot restaurant was dirty full flies and poorly organized. Albany has plenty of choices of chicken restaurants this is probably not the best choice although it was on the pricey side for what I did get. The fried okra was probably pre-frozen and breaded but it was far better than the chicken and that commercial sweet and sour sauce was just awful.

Extremely expensive and for no reason really. The chicken we received was way over cooked and dry. The tator tots were not good either. They tasted like they’d been sitting out since yesterday. The only thing that was actually good was the baked beans, which they failed to put the lid on correctly so the beans spilled out into the bag. All in all, a waste of nearly $40 for a meal that wasn’t even enjoyable. Disappointed.

For 7 dollars I received the saddest excuse of chicken strips I have gotten in a long long while. I would have preferred it if they told me they were out of pieces than waiting 15 minutes to receive this. This isn’t even strike one for this place though. They do not prepare their gizzards well at this place either, as they sometimes fail to remove the skin which makes the food nasty and bitter. It’s a Russian roulette on whether or not your gizzards will be nice which is why I went with strips and they even failed in that regard. Just terrible.

Amazing service! Not only did they bring our food to our table, but I watched them carry a meal to someone waiting in their car who hadn’t even gone through the drive-thru.

The highs: The best part of the meal was the fish! Ordered the grouper and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My group ordered tilapia and no complaints there also. Customer service was very nice and staff was inviting. Loved the opening to the kitchen where you could watch your food being cooked. The lows: The building was old and inside desperately needed some repairs (the ceiling tiles that were probably as old as the town). The sides were mostly a miss. Potato salad unknowingly tasted as if it contained meat. Baked beans were actually pork and beans and the fries were fries. Overall review: Good.

There are few places whose food takes me back to my childhood years with a smile. The gizzards were amazing. They reminded me of sitting on the tailgate with my mom, and I’ve tried gizzards from all over Albany and never had that joy before.

I give a 5 star purely because I believe in Maryland’s. Been eating it for 33 years now I believe. Fried Green tomatoes and Liver Gizzards Combo is my go to. Love it. The bag smells so good, I can’t hardly wait to get home. Tater tots for the win and the prices are fair. Speed is decent as well. I like the additions they throw in like Smoked Ribs.
