The wait took much longer than expected being that it should be just a get and go type of restaurant but it was worth it. I only requested the regular BK Udon knowing that I will also get a few tempura items to add some substance to the meal. Surprisingly, all the tempura items like the sweet potato, shrimp and croquette were crispy and delicious! Udon was perfectly cooked and the broth was rich and flavorful! Service was excellent and there’s a self-serve utensils, water and condiment bar and you seat yourself.

We have tried Marugame before and have been waiting for them to open this one at valley fair as it’s closer. The food is really flavourful and portions are good. The noodles were fresh and thick. We were a group of four and the wait was considerably lesser than we expected. I would definitely recommend miso ramen and tonkatsu ramen. Tan tan ramen was not crazy spicy even though it looks like that. The cold bk noodles was good and flavourful too. Their tempuras are another level. Loved shrimp and sweet potato a lot. The chicken and potato was good too.

Finally tried Marugame Udon!! There’s always wait here since it’s opening. Bustling with people, they are famous for their fresh udon noodles and house made bases.

One of the freshes tasting udons we’ve ever tasted. The udon noodles are fresh and does not disintegrate once it’s in the broth. Personally, this restaurant is more afforable and simply taste wise is better than Udon Mugizo.

Counter self-served udon joint just like one would find in Japan. You pick your udon serving size, the broth, toppings and proceed to the tempura selection, then cashier. They have the sauce table with the cutlery and tray return counter at the end of the meal. Quality on par with Japanese airport udon. Well made udon and tempura.

Finally got to try without the long lines, on a late Monday afternoon today. I can see why the lines can easily back up, people still undecided, not ready to pay, or just sitting at the table long after they’re done.

Nice to see Marugame finally open! Great udon texture and taste. Was in line for around 30min on a weekend for lunch, got the nikutama regular size and it was the perfect portion. Self serve for water/sauces. Line moves quickly, and there were always staff around to help put away dishes/keep the place clean.

Really 3.5 stars here for food, but 4 stars for the slick setup and general service/cleanliness. Marugame does not do udon super well – though the noodles themselves are quite good. The broth for a sweet beef bowl is way too cheap-tasting sweet and the beef is of very low quality, more like at a Yoshinora. The curry sauce is okay but has little nuance at all. Iced matcha latte is very good, as is the sweet potato tempura – highlights. The shrimp tempura is just okay with a bit too much batter. We wish them luck but will not personally go back again; far below the quality of product across the mezzanine at Ramen Nagi.

Good udon noodle, lots of soup base variety, with welcoming staffs. Would recommend this place for a quick udon crave.
