Stopped by around 1pm on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn’t too busy.

We like the food here. We came at almost lunch time around 11 and looking for a heavier lunch. We ordered the fried squid as appetizer, and several entree and ramen for a family of five. All taste good! They seated outside, but there is option to sit inside of the restaurant too

Took a road trip to Charlottesville and randomly stumbled across this restaurant open on a Sunday afternoon. Every dish was phenomenal, especially the ddeokbokki (with ramen), kalbi and bulgogi. Seating was comfortable for a group of 5, and the place felt quite cozy.

MARU is one of my favorite restaurants in town, hands down. The spot is small, so I always make reservations just in case, but if you time it right, it’s every easy to get in.

Great spot right on the mall with great food. They care about what they do here and it shows. The flavor profiles are scomplex but familiar and comforting. Not our first time and won’t be our last!!

We love Maru for their selection of great Korean vegetarian food. Our favorites are Maru Fried Rice with Tofu, Fried Vegetable Dumplings, Dolsot Bibimbap with Tofu, & the Banchan. The Dolsot Bibimbap came out in a sizzling hot bowl! Great outdoor seating on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall.

As a native Korean, Maru’s food has always been the closest comfort food I could find in Charlottesville. I can attest this is by far the best Korean restaurant in this area. Try their spicy pork and soondubu jjigae and dakgangjeong – you will not regret it.

Enjoyed this place for work for a while. Today I had an excellent, above and beyond experience. Ordered the dolsot bibimbap and the owner personally showed me and my friend how to prepare and eat the dish, the meaning behind the name of the dish and the service never let our drinks be empty.
