The best sandwiches & friendliest service – all fresh gourmet ingredients, also a cute little market you can shop imported Italian goods! I got the diavolo sandwich and it did not disappoint the Calabrian hot pepper spread is top notch- if you haven’t been here – GO!!

I had the Martoni salad. It had lots of walnuts, roasted red peppers and shredded mozzarella. It was better than I expected! My partner raved about the Parma ham on her sandwich and I loved stealing some of her ciabatta which was great.

Two months ago I visited Rome with my family. The sights, people and beauty still stand out. Yet, it is the food that will be forever memorable. The little off the beaten path sandwich spots with Italian delicacies were forever memorable.

Martoni is a gentleman. He’s very welcoming and treated us like old guests. When you walk in you already feel like you’re in Italy. The atmosphere and the authenticity is on point.

Adorable little Italian cafe. Stop here for an espresso, panini con prosciutto and leave with a gelato.

I know I am going to be criticized by referring to a small gelato/sandwich place as European like. But I don’t care. We Americans assume that every restaurant has to be big, with and extensive three-fold menu and ten big screen TV’s in every viewing corner. For those of us who have traveled throughout Europe, this place is an example of what it is like to enjoy a limmited menu of good food, a glass of wine or a fresh made gelato. Simple with good food and a nice glass of wine. No, I am not going to compare it to the little place I had lunch in Italy, but it made think about that place, while sitting on Main Street Northport, New York. I wish them the best of luck.

Martoni’s is a hidden gem in the village of Northport. Located right across from the post office. You step into a small cozy trattoria. The closest you may find to Italian heaven outside of NYC or Italy.
