West Tennessee’s legendary whole-hog BBQ tradition is the cornerstone of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. Pat Martin learned the art and craft of West Tennessee-style smoke and meat 25 years ago in the tiny town of Henderson, TN before making Nashville his home. It became a consuming passion that eventually led to a business when he opened the first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in October of 2006 in Nolensville, Tennessee – just south of Nashville.
We come in at 5 am, every day, seven days a week. From the sides to the sauces, everything is made from scratch every single day – You’ll never find a freezer or microwave in our kitchens. But the bar-b-que actually starts a day ahead, as the process for smoking whole hogs simply can’t be rushed.

Stopped here on my way home from Follybeach and loved the food! They have a outside area that is pet friendly and all the food I tried was amazing! We had brisket and pork. Sides of potato salad , macaroni , fries. Definitely making this a stop on my trip again. Good service as well!

Sooooo, let me just tell you this is the absolute best freaking BBQ place we have EVER eaten at. First of all, I read the reviews saying the servers don’t come back to fill up drinks…. And that’s not a thing. You literally order at the bar or the front and they bring you drinks and your food…. If you want more you just have to walk up and order more to drink. Super quick service. Very friendly staff. Best brisket my husband has ever had and that’s sayin something. If you’re ordering the half rack…. Trust me it will be plenty. Especially with the two sides. And the sides… Jesus the sides are amazing! Collectively, we had the Mac and cheese, hush puppies, broccoli salad and baked beans and literally everything was on point!! I do wish we lived closer! This was an amazing treat and I am so happy we stopped. Thank you for the amazing food and the awesome atmosphere!

Some of the best BBQ I have had. Brisket was a tad fatty for my taste but the ribs and wings were amazing. Hoecake and Mac and cheese was good and solid beer options. Wish they had a spicier hot sauce but the Alabama white sauce and vinegar BBQ were excellent. Solid live music as well and loved the indoor and outdoor seating options. Finally if you skip the broccoli salad you are missing out!

If you’re looking for some bomb BBQ, look no further. We ordered ribs and brisket with a side of fries and house chips. The brisket was 10/10! Juicy and tender and full of flavor. Their sauces are also amazing. I’ve been to Joe’s, Q39, etc. In KC, and this is right up there. It’d be perfect if they had burnt ends. Service was fast and friendly. The place was clean and has both indoor and outdoor seating available.

Absolutely the best brisket I’ve had since being here in Charleston! The brisket tacos are fantastic and the beans are awesome with a bit of a kick. The cornbread hoecake was different, but in a good way. Very impressed. And they have a couple allergy friendly options for the wife. Wish they would adjust how they smoke or prep so she could have all of the meats though. She has a dairy allergy so that wouldn’t take too much of an adjustment, but they do take good care otherwise!

I got the 1/2 BBQ Chicken tray with the macaroni and cornbread for sides. The macaroni and cornbread was great, but the chicken was pretty dry. The BBQ sauce on our table was the consistency of water and did not coat or cover the chicken. Rather it ran off and soaked into my cornbread and made a soggy mess. Not a fan of the paper straws either. As for the environment it was great. Very well decorated and welcoming inside and out. The staff I encountered was very kind and courteous also.

We usually have good experiences from Martin’s takeout; however, the past two times we have had one side missing from each of our BBQ tray’s. The quality is great, we would just like to have our entire order. My order from tonight was missing Mac and cheese.
