Classic Connecticut roadside happy hour spot. Some outdoor seating combined with a dark and comfortable bar and dining room. There are two menus to choose from. One is the new england American style menu and the other is a Thai menu for the Thai restaurant that is attached to the building. You can choose from both and the food is solid. I had the prime rib, blackened, and it was fantastic. The doc rub was really tasty and the steak was cooked perfectly. The other person I was with had the crabby patty, which is a sirloin burger with a crab cake on it. Sounded like it was awesome. Overall was a great experience, and if you are driving by give it a shot.

Since merging with the Thai restaurant things have gone down hill. Maritime menu is extremely limited. Mostly just fried food. The server was polite but not well trained. Dinner mate had to ask if salad came with meal. Server didn’t bother asking what kind of dressing she wanted. Also had to ask for the veggies that came with the dinner. The Thai food I order was just ok, I’ve had better. It was unusually quiet for a Saturday night and our meals took sometime to get out to us. The previous visit to this one was far better. They best go back to the way things were. Won’t be back until they get their act together.

This place is actually two restaurants in one: Maritime Grille, the original, and Ayuthaya, the Thai restaurant that moved there from a half-life down the road. You are presented with both restaurants’ menus. I only ate Thai, so the four stars are for Ayuthaya!

I came as a traveler with a spouse and dog. I arrived close to closing time. The staff was attentive, gravious and courteous. They offered to bring the dog a bowl of water without being asked! The American menu was not available, but that was fine because I have a weakness for drunken noodle with duck, and that was available. It was delicious, with crispy, tender, moist boneless duck and perfectly prepared veggies and wide noodles. I like a spicy dish, and this certainly was spicy! The house red wine had body and a hint of sweetness that paired beautifully with the duck. They took my beloved’s request for a spicy Bloody Mary in earnest, and served him a good beef Pho.

Maritime Grille is just a hidden gem! Great local restaurant and bar with friendly the service. The food, the drinks, it’s like the bar Cheers ( the old tv show) everyone knows everyone. The Greek owners Peter and Sophia are very personable gracious and hard working♥️ Go Enjoy and bring a Hearty Appetite ! You will not be disappointed!

I have eaten here three times. The food is outstanding and priced fairly. I had tuna avocado salad and fish and chips. One time was a buffet at a birthday party. The buffet was ridiculously good. It forced me to over eat. I had no choice in the matter. Took home some ribs. Had them for breakfast. There are many excellent restaurants in the Sarasota area. This is now a go to restaurant for me. I try to go to new places, but it is difficult once I have found really good places already. This is especially true because I have also found some mediocre places to eat. Not sure how they stay in business.

Tough steak, tasteless potato. Sour cream is pre packaged and had watery film

Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone downhill with their new ownership. To begin with, we discovered after we sat down that many of our old favorites (Salmon Gorgonzola, Linguine with Clams, …), which ARE still listed on their online menu, are not actually available. Then, even though it was not very busy, we sat for quite a while before our salads arrived. And of course just as we began our salads, the entrees started arriving! However, they just STARTED arriving… some of our party-of-seven sat for more than 20 minutes without anything to eat! Finally, to top it off I found a “Non-Cash Discount” on our bill, which wasn’t a discount, but a $10 charge for using a credit card.
