Small cozy place with parking lot. All personal are very kind and provide great customer service. It’s very organized; such as getting your name at the door and have you wait for a call, once your table is ready. Woow! I’m amazed by the food flavor. Although it’s on the smaller side and there’s no alcohol offerings; If you want quality seafood food, this is the place for you. Other seafood places prioritize the spectacle of live music, decorative dishes and an abundance of alcohol offerings but the taste of the food suffers. This isn’t the case at Mariscos Luis. The focus is on their food. It’s also BYOB. Make sure to try the shrimp empanadas, any dish with the Luis-ito sauce which is the house specialty and the Chapuzón.

The food was good as usual but the wait & service was horrible. Got there about 3:30 pm was told there was a 15-minute wait. So we waited. We weren’t called to a table till about 5:00pm. Then we didn’t get our order taken until 5:30 pm. While other people that have sat after us we’re already getting their drinks and food.

If you have never had seafood with Mexico flavors, you need to try this place. The best, freshest flavors, in Chicago. Filiete a La Veracruzana, is a piece of fish, cut from a fresh whole fish, grilled, then topped with a delicious spicy, red tomato sauce with, green peppers and garlic, all on top of delicious white rice that itself has a delicious poblano pepper flavor and a side of delicious creamy crab salad, to cool the palate, fresh slices of avacado on top of a fresh small lettuce, with a slice of tomato and red onion. Trust me you will love it. The place is always packed! We always order to go because they are always busy. Sorry my plate looks messy, I had already started to eat it then took the picture!

Ordered a piña rellena for pick up and the whole entire dish is burnt, got home and realized it. I can’t believe they actually let a burnt dish leave the building. I would’ve rather been told the truth and wait a little longer than getting home and now it has to get tossed in the garbage. Not going back unfortunately.
