Mario’s is the last restaurant I dined in for dinner before heading home from the long Memorial Day Weekend. This place has been around since 1954, and it was the best restaurant I dined in during my stay in Lake George. The restaurant inside is beautifully elegant, clean, and has a great ambiance. I ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and the Blackened Salmon. The Shrimp Cocktail is what you would expect from a Shrimp Cocktail and the Blackened Salmon was very tasty and had flavor. The Minestone Soup that came with my entree was pretty good as well. My server was very pleasant, and the food came out rather quickly. They have a decent sized menu and, in my opinion, didn’t seem overpriced at all, as other reviewers have stated. I got a couple of glasses of the house wine for $9 a glass, and surprisingly, it was really good, and I got a real nice buzz. Overall, I would definitely dine here again the next time I am vacationing in the area.

Beautiful atmosphere but too dim inside. Waitress was wonderful! No issues there. I got Braciole, the meat was dry and the inside was mushy bread crumbs. There was no taste of garlic at all. My significant other got the Mario’s platter. They ran out of eggplant and replaced it with chicken. That’s fine, but the chicken tasted like a frozen chicken tender with sauce and mozzarella cheese. The “mini meatballs” were definitely frozen meat balls and instead it a stuffed shell he got a lasagna noodle with straight ricotta cheese. In my opinion, Mario’s take on the tour of Italy is really the tour of Walmarts frozen section. The salad and bread was the only part I can’t complain about.

A unique culinary treasure that has withstood the test of time, Mario’s Restaurant is tucked away in the heart of New York and perfectly captures the flavor of traditional Italian cuisine. I knew I was in for a special eating experience that would make an impression the moment I walked into this quaint restaurant.

Their food is superb and it’s beyond our expectations. We will definitely come back and i highly recommend them and the service is amazing. This restaurant is superb and really amazing! Even the kids love their food.

Lovely space, the restaurant is spacious with many rooms for seating. They have a different entrance for the restaurant and also a lounge area for drinks.

What a great place. We sat at the bar and were able to meet the great family that owns and works the place. Nick makes some great drinks. Thank you for your hospitality and great food.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. This place is amazing!!!!!! I stood at Lake George for a week. We ate here almost everyday. We tried a few other spots and this restaurant by far is one of the best and a MUST goto if you stay in Lake George. Service was outstanding. Employees had great personalities and very welcoming. Food was outstanding. I recommend the shrimp scampi. Prices were reasonable, not over priced. When I go back to Lake George, I will definitely be going back here. Highly recommended. I would make a reservation before going so you aren’t waiting to be seated. This place can get busy at times.

Really disappointed. Ordered the fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. The calamari were very small pieces and overcooked. The mushrooms were also very small.. The main courses that were ordered. Penne with Vodka sauce was basically a red sauce. The Marios Italian platter was basically covered in a red sauce that wasn’t very good. The chicken cutlet on the plate was decent and the stuffed shells tasted good. The mini meatballs were basically fried and the sauce dumped on top.

Beautiful, romantic, place, professional service, and delicious food, including the “free” freshly baked bread!! And the water was poured without being asked, which I have not seen at a restaurant in a very, very long time! P.S. the Parmesan cheese that comes with the free bread was mistaken for sugar and was added to my date’s coffee. I do not recommend doing that unless you will laugh as much as we did.

We visit Lake George once a year on a day trip and have dinner at Mario’s. This last experience was disappointing. The quality of the food was pretty good but the portions for the premium price were disappointing as well as their willingness to accommodate my wife to alter a couple different entrees of her choice to gluten free. I had the chicken parm. It is served with bread which was delicious, a very very small salad, a good size piece of chicken parm on a plate then a separate (very very small bowl) of pasta of your choice. I do not understand why an Italian restaurant would skimp on your pasta when it is a very low cost portion of an entree. Like I say, the quality of everyone’s entree in our party was good but portions do not match the cost at all. We will be exploring other options on our next trip. So disappointing!
