While there are many pizza joints in the Triad, there are very few authentic Italian ones that are family-owned and locally focused. Mario’s Pizza is just that though!
Brothers Vinny, Mario and Tony, are from and grew up in Brooklyn. They’ve always been in the food business. Thanks to their Italian origins they love and know a thing or two about making pizza!
They left Brooklyn in 1981 and moved to the North Carolina coast. It was then that they officially opened Mario’s Pizza! They had a store in Jacksonville Mall and one in Havelock. At that time they focused solely on pizza.
From then to now, they’ve always offered authentic Italian-style pizza. Their recipes even date back to their family over in Calabria, Italy.

Not sure who’s answering their phones today, but he is rude. Haven’t had an experience less than excellent here until today. The food is fantastic but the guy ruined the experience. I sent my sister here to pick up my food and she was late picking it up so the chips were cold. I called and asked to have them dropped again (which has been done before, no problem, no attitude, nothing) but the guy there was telling my sister “Oh its gonna be cold by the time they get it anyway.” Not sure what the attitude was for. I was only 4 min away from the restaurant. The address on file is not even the address I am at anymore.

Very much, enjoyable! Philly style steak sub & mozzarella sticks. Impressed, definitely added to the favorites list here in Winston Salem, N.C. Also, the ceilings are creative. In the Triad area, stop in for a bite to eat. Check out their specials. Good prices, great food for all occasions.
