We came in last minute on a whim. Seated in 10 minutes, tempted to place a bet in the back room but listened to the Union bagpipes instead. Food was incredible, service was excellent. Atmosphere was just what we needed. Every person in the restaurant left with a to go box or two and ate more than enough. The daily special of spicy sausage Alfredo was wel above my expectations. Will definitely come back soon… and to top it all off, we spent less for two people than I would alone at Legends right next door.

Usually I use DD when I get Marcos but this time we had a large order for 5 people so I decided to do pickup. Marcos is by far my favorite Italian place in Maine. I’ve never had a bad meal, not once. Everything always tastes like it is made from the heart. I have liked everything I’ve tried. I really like the cooked carrots that come with some of the dinners. This feels like authentic, homestyle Italian cooking. Also, the servings are huge! You can easily get 2 or 3 meals from one dinner. And it always comes with a nice salad plus bread. The prices are very reasonable; it was just over $100 for dinner for 5 people. And again, we’ve made 3 meals out of it. I think the picture I’m posting is of the stuffed chicken. I’ve had that several times and it’s never let me down.

The food is almost as good as the Italian food in Ct., where I’m from. Authentic Italian food that is well presented and tasty. The decor is older but who eats decor? Good service and food are important to us seniors at lunchtime. Everything is priced right too and we’ve never left hungry or disappointed.

Can’t say enough about my dining experience at Marcos..it truly was one of the best meals I’ve had in my 17 years in Maine!! The meal preparation and portion were both exceptional..we were still eating beyond their closing time, but our waitress was gracious, and never made us feel rushed! I am truly looking forward to my next visit..and the one after that!!

The food at Marcos is always 100% spot on, delicious! The service at Marcos is not always good. We have gone to dine on numerous occasions, and unfortunately have not had a good experience with the service. We have had the same server each time. He was slow, overwhlemed, rude, and couldn’t handle the amount of people in our party(the last visit we had 10, the time before was 8). We specifically requested not to have him on our last visit because of the terrible experience the time before. When we arrived for our reservation and he was the one that showed up at the table, we all were taken aback. The last time was the last visit for a while. We order takeout and love the food. We just wish the management cared about the guests getting good service. Waiting for 40 minutes for drinks, or sitting around for an hour while our server disappears isn’t our idea of good service.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could easily leave it at that but I’m Sicilian so here comes the very long story………………. The place was dark and a little outdated looking but was highly recommended by the girl at Mardens. She said it was a lot like Olive Garden. OK, worth a try. So I look at the very worn menu, noting the incredible prices. “Are these real?”, I thought to myself. Judging by how worn the menus were I guessed the prices on them had to be completely wrong. Nope! The waitress confirmed they were real prices! OK, so the portions must be teeny tiny but whatever, we were hungry so we ordered and well, we suddenly found ourselves buried in plates of hot, delicious and very authentic Italian food!! If someone was screaming profanities in Italian I would have easily believed I was at Grandma Luciano’s house having a meal!! It was that authentic!! From the portions to the taste and freshness, it was all exactly how grandma would have done it! We walked away with a huge bag of leftovers and completely stuffed to the brim! We could hardly walk out!!!!!!!! Lasagna, side of Mac N Cheese, fresh hot bread with olive oil, loaded sausage parm, massive cob salad, lemonade and a huge bowl of broccoli cheese soup all for $45 before tip!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were 3 of us dining out today and we literally had enough food for double that amount of people! I was reminded of my Grandma Luciano making an entire extended dining room table of food for one priest!! I told her we were expecting 1 priest and not 100 priests!! LMAO!! So yes, we will be going back again for sure!! As for Olive Garden, sorry to say they have nothing on Markos!! Markos is a thousand times better than Olive Garden ever thought of being!!!!!!!! Il meglio del meglio!!

We loved our meal last night! We started with mussels, and they were the best we have ever had. We shared an entree of seafood scampi. They plated in separate plates without us asking. We had enough left over for next day lunch. It was absolutely delicious and the bread and salad were as well. Our waitress was wonderfully pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. We were very pleased with our food, service, atmosphere and the price!! We highly recommend and have now added Marco’s to our guest house guidebook.
