First time here. Only went into the restaurant part, not the bar or back area. Had a Reuben sandwich with fries, wife had a BLT with tater tots. Both were excellent, but pricy. Also, for dessert we had the mint grasshopper ice cream cake. It was good but needed to have more mint in it. Very lacking in that department.

Great little stop outside Springfield. Took our corvette for a cruise and stopped for a beverage. Nice and clean. Good bartenders.

OMG I am an out of towner and this is one of those, hometown diners that out of towners see only in the movies. There is a tavern on the other side of the building but you can access it thru the diner. We were greeted with a smile by the hostess her voice also happy took our orders. I ordered breakfast and it was plentiful. She kept our drinks full the whole time we ate. Even though the tavern is on the other side you don’t know they are there. The food was delicious!!! Very nicely served looked enticing to the eye. Locals entered and were greeted by the hostess and they spoke openly no whispering. I wish I could of stayed there all day long just to keep feeling the tranquility that was there. I hope to go back out there before I head back home. And when I come back I will go out here to Marcola Roadhouse.

Small-town country bar & separate restaurant with excellent food. My pesto fettuccine alfredo with bacon crumbles was perfect, and accompanying garlic “Texas Toast” was great. My son had chicken fried steak that really was a piece of steak; very tasty, and fabulous accompanying seasoned crispy french fries. While we did not have it, a neighboring table had the “Roadhouse Burger”; it was stacked tall with many tasty layers for impressive presentation, has to be smooshed down to be eaten – with very appreciative munching noises…
