Welcome to Marcello’s Restaurant and Wine Bar in Covington where we specialize in true Italian cooking. Our restaurant is an authentic representation of Sicilian comfort food. Our wine concept is giving guests the choice to browse our racks and make their selection from our value priced wines. Our wine pricing is slightly above wine boutique prices, but far below traditional restaurant wine list mark-ups.

Seth is one of the best servers I have ever had. Seriously. He was attentive, friendly, made suggestions when I asked, and brought me several wine tastings. Couldn’t ask for better. The food was utterly amazing!

Was one of my favorite place to go until last night. I ordered a drink that I thought I may like and didn’t. Appeared that they were going replace it and when the manager came and asked about how our meal was my husband was honest that it wasn’t his favorite. Didn’t ask to have it paid for, he ate it. He just gave her his opinion and then we got yelled at. Told that we were the “kind of people” that wanted to get things for free! The manager and bartender attacked us and we were told not to come back. We go there at least twice a month and gladly spend good money there. It was an awful discriminating experience.

What a hidden gem!! Definitely the best restaurant in Covington and maybe the best Italian in the whole state!! Very small quaint, cozy and welcoming Italian restaurant that you will drive by as we have many times but be wise and stop for dinner. They have a patio we are anxious to try. The service is top notch in that they can’t do enough to make your experience a good one. They may not all be well versed in the Italian menu and culture (like grappa) but they will find out for you!! The wine list was the most interesting! It is like cruising in a wine shop with the prices on the bottles and you just choose your wine. That was so much fun and we found a great bargain on a Premier Grand Cru. The menu has all the Italian favorites, making choices difficult. Know while making your choices that portions are large and it is all authentic and well prepared. We had the side of Saffron Risotto to start and that was perfectly prepared (so hard to find) which paired well with the wine. We had salads, one house and one cesar both very nice. I would not order those again because I needed room for the other food but being married to an Italian he loves to eat in courses, so…. My husband had the Eggplant Parm which was to die for and I had the seafood pasta with a mushroom sherry cream sauce, again perfectly prepared with mounds of shrimp, lobster and seafood. I ended up taking most of it home but it was actally fresh and wonderful the next day!! We of course had disgestives and they did have grappa and espresso much to my husbands delight! We shared tiramisu which we could not finish but then tasting is a thing. It was a culinary experience like you would expect in Italy. You should not miss!! It would be perfect for a cozy Romantic date night or a great place for a dinner with family or friends! Reserve ahead – It is small and likely fills up way ahead.

The food was presented like fine dining: like there was a contest to see how beautifully it could be presented. And it was delicious. I was outside, where the atmosphere was wonderful, but I think I was forgotten a few times as I had to flag down a server every now and then.

Charming ambiance renovated home turned restaurant. The only negative is the bar area which is a little weird and right next to the front entry door. But the bartender was awesome and friendly. I love their wall of wine- you can walk around and browse their wines by the bottle. Food wise- Every single dish we had was spectacular. Meatball dish and crab appetizers were delicious. I love the fried eggplant squares that replace normal croutons on their Caesar salad. The special king ora salmon that night was very fresh and extremely tender. Husband’s steak was cooked perfectly. Definitely going again!

Wonderful meal. We started out with a wonderful calamari appetizer and bread which was delicious. I had a seafood pasta with crab, lobster and shrimp that was outstanding. My wife had the chicken parmigiana which was wonderful. Great happy hour of half off wine by the glass and half off appetizers until 6:00. I definitely will be back.

Very good food, but quite expensive! Love the atmosphere too. Wr looking for a family type place we could eat at at least once a week but just can’t handle the prices. They need a birthday club too. Or specials, would bring in more customers.
