Manny’s Uptown Tex-Mex Restaurante was founded by Manuel “Manny” Rios in 2005 in the uptown area of Dallas, Texas. Manny is a retired Army veteran. He started his interest in the restaurant business with his sister as a server. After learning the restaurant business, Manny decided it was time to follow his dream of opening his own Tex Mex Restaurant, with traditional family recipes. Manny was inspired by his chef father, Charlie Rios.

A friend recommended Manny’s Tex-Mex restaurant to us. We were very pleased with the recommendation. The server was super sweet and on point. The food was excellent, and the presentation was a pleasant surprise. The establishment was clean, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I ordered a margarita and it was almost $20.00. My husband ordered a regular margarita, which was $16.00. This is too much for drinks if you ask me. Other than the pricy drinks, I was pleased with the dinner and service at this establishment. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was our first time to try out Manny’s. We loved the look of the place when we walked in – very open concept feel with a lot of expensive feeling touches. However, when you are seated in the middle as we were, it kind of feels a bit impersonal, with the TVs above your head, the bar over to the side, and a lot of hustle and bustle all around you. The food was delicious – everything seemed to have a little kick to it, from bits of jalapeno in the rice, to a medium spicy salsa. No bland Tex Mex here! They also have a lot of great variety on the menu, such as the carne asada that my husband ordered, which he raved about. My only problem with this first encounter was the service. Our particular waiter was not friendly at all, just very matter a fact about taking our order, then rarely showing up again to refill drinks, etc. I honestly felt like he was annoyed with us, but we hadnt given him any requests or anything, so im not sure why. We will try it again, and hope for much better service.

AMAZING! Love the vegan food. Our waiter Javier was TOPS! He recommended the triple flavor margarita and it is a MUST ! Flawless experience and this is our third visit. Ready to move back to TX for this place:)

3/22/23: This was our first visit. There are several restaurants in the area. We sat at the bar, where Jorge and Nadia took care of us. We had a Margarita, a Michelada, a couple of rounds of Mexican Candy. All our drinks were pretty good, particularly the Michelada and the Mexican Candy. Jorge and Nadia were very friendly. We told them that we would be back to sample their menu, since we had just had dinner before stopping by. Their menu looks pretty good. There was plenty of parking, and plenty of seating area inside and out. There was a nice share patio area between Manny’s and the Brass Tap. This was a nice place to hang out. Will definitely be back.

Great atmosphere, great food and okay service. If you want a drink refill, it’s luck of the draw. Another server was running around with drink refills but ours had to be flagged down. As I’m writing this, and waiting on our check, I just noticed that several staff are at a table in the corner eating (including our waiter). Not sure if we’ll go back. Waiter was not friendly at all. We paid, and he walked away without saying goodbye or a anything.

Good food, great service, even better drinks. What’s not to like?! We did come at 5:30 on a Saturday so had zero wait time and our waiter was very attentive. I highly recommend! We had the watermelon margaritas, Paloma, enchiladas verdes, and tamales and all were fantastic.

Ordered few appetizers. Nachos with brisket, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole was good. Shrimp ceviche with chips was really refreshing. I would order it again.

The Farritas plate was perfect, and the plates were the ideal size, almost too big for us. Usually, I wouldn’t say I like tex mex food, but this one was pretty good—a place to seat down and enjoy a Mimosa on Sunday morning.

I love Manny’s I recently had breakfast here and I’ve eaten dinner here it’s been great, food is good and service is quick. Their frozen margaritas are good and the guac is my favorite appetizer.
